Is anyone planning on picking up the Batman & The Outsiders Special next week? I'm intrigued to see how the team gets shifted up, find out who "Owlman" might be, and see what changes are made to the book as it changes to "The Outsiders" once again.
The fact that this is a good jumping on point, and I stopped reading it originally back at issue 4 or 5 makes me want to give this another shot. Has anyone been following the title on a regular basis? Anyone else curious enough to pick this up?

I didn't put this on my pull list, but I am definitely planning to check it out next week. Not at all sure I'm interested in continuing to pick it up without Batman, but I'm interested in the transition, the references to Batman and seeing who this Owlman is.

I will be getting this for sure. The new team looks like a great line-up. Good to see The Creeper getting some limelight. Plus if the rumors are true, Alfred leading this team is icing on the cake.

Yeah, forgot about that part; I want to check that out too. And it's not just a rumor; Tomasi said that in an interview.

wild guess based only on he met a version of owlman in countdown. that and Alfred might be the only memeber of the bats to give him a shot at redemption.

I'll check it if only because I've enjoyed everything Tomasi has done recently.

Just had a wild thought; IF Damion becomes the new Robin, and Jason becomes Red Robin again (which was the rumor way back), I wonder if they might make Tim Owlman? Good gosh, I hope not. Better Jason in that role than him.

I've been going back and forth about this, but I've always liked the Creeper, and I'm intrigued both by Alfred's leadership and the identity of the Earth-0 Owlman.

If I remember correctly, they've been hinting that it'll be someone more obscure. That, and I'm fairly sure that Jason and Tim are busy with Battle for the Cowl. My guess is Jason Bard, the guy who does Batman's diurnal legwork. He was reintroduced to continuity by James Robinson in the first OYL arc for Batman and Detective Comics, entitled "Face the Face."

Not interested. There have been too many Outsiders shake ups in the past 18 months.

That would just be strange, and not a very good fit. I agree Jason would probably be better suited.

Wikipedia claims the October 2008 DC Nation said "The owl and the butler are the same person." It seems to me, though, that Alfred is a little too old to be running around in tights.

My main interest is Creeper but the rest of the new line-up is interesting as well.

I'm getting this, The Outsiders have always been my favorites, and this seems like a back to basics approach that this book needs after all the mess.

if they want to go obscure how about Henri Ducard

Yeah, I suppose he could be wearing a costume simply to conceal his identity, but... that would be a little weird.

That would be amusing. Didn't he sport a beard, though? I mean, yeah, either Alfred and Ducard could shave, but their perceived age is a problem. This guy in the cowl looks pretty young.

I just can't see that happening. Alfred as Owlman? What happened to his moustache? That, and why did they show Alfred's cufflink in the solicit for the Batman and the Outsiders Special?
Don't most of these members already know that Bruce Wayne is Batman, since they've all worked with him before?

Well I've geared up and added this and the entire Battle for the Cowl checklist to my pull list. There have been a lot of shake ups in this team, but I'm looking forward to giving it a fair shot as they fulfill the Dark Knight's final wishes. I also enjoy what the new writer has been doing on GLC.
....plus Owlman is awesome.

How do you know that? Or do you mean he looks awesome.

I meant that he looks awesome and the fact that he's going to be in the book is cool. However, if he does turn out to be awesome then that's what I meant instead  .
