I've been reading these forums for months and I decided to finally get an account. I love the X-Men and most anything related to it. Here are some random opinions of mine about the X-World:

1-Chris Claremont has gotten a bad rap and I think that the editors have a lot to do with it. I also think that he should not write any more X-Books.

2-I think that the Astonishing team is getting worn out. They appear in Uncanny, Astonishing, One-Shots and every mini-series' that ties into some bigger story.

3-I love the New Mutants from the early days. They really had no luck towards the end of that 100 ish run, but, I'm hoping that the new ongoing does them justice.

4-IMHO, the Hellions, with the exception of Beef and Jetstream, are still alive. I believe that Tarot was the only other one shown to die and she came back.

That's just some of my opinions. Reply and post stuff. The people on this post are hilarious.

Ha! I did the very same thing today--broke down and joined after stalking CBR forums for... two years?

1. I think it's a little bit of A and a little bit of B in the case of the Editors vs. Claremont. I agree with the rest, which is a shame since his first run is collected in a HC in my heart. I'd get deeper into this if there wasn't already a thread about this same topic.

2. I agree about the Astonishing team and wish the "rotating cast depending on the situation" mandate of Uncanny extended further out for the current run of AXM's conception.

3. I know very little about the next New Mutants book, but I hope we're through the gloom that's overtaken that thread of books in recent years. Okay, being a young mutant in a post-M Day world is extremely tough. I get it. That said, I think I'm done with the whole young mutant angle, but this may have to do with my age and relating to that--not quite like I used to. (I want to be a senior staff member, dangit!)

4. No idea.

Just a heads up---when your creating a new thread, resign yourself to actually bringing up a topic for discussion. Some of the posters here might not bother with this thread---not out of malice, of course, but just because there's no real topic to discuss or debate.

I think every writer has been victimized by editors, lack or time, and fan hate mail. That said I also think every writer has written some serious crap along with all of their glorious stuff. lately CC made me cry when Exiles was handed to him. For whatever reasons it wasn't my cup of tea.
