View Full Version : Where do YOU "file" Batman #682-83?

Just curious. These two issues certainly seem like they could conceivably fit in a lot of places.

The books contained he last story of Morrison's run, so I know some people argued that they should be considered "lead-outs" to RIP and part of Morrison's overall narrative.

On the other hand, #682-83 were the first books to bear the "Last Rites" branding, so you might consider the two-parter -- which is a career retrospective, after all -- the first story under that particular banner.

Then, of course, there's the Final Crisis tie-in, which is printed on the cover and is clearly justified through the books' content.

Personally, I'll put the two-parter with my FC books, in-between issues #4 and #5. I don't think the two-parter counts as a real "Last Rites" story, since Bruce is obviously not (considered) dead at this point. Of course, I could just go by the title on the covers, file both issues under Batman and be done with it, but since the two-parter really doesn't make a lick of sense outside of FC. Heck, I probably would've skipped it if I hadn't gotten into FC.

... Yes, I know I'm anal. But you are, too; -- so spill the beans!

EDIT: UGH! I'm an idiot! Can a mod please move this to the "Batman" forum?

Well, I for one think it's about time we started talking about Batman in the Marvel forums. ;)

And to answer the question: I file my stuff by book and then by number rather than by story. So Batman #683 will go in the Batman box after #682 which will be after #681. The Final Crisis books will be keep together in another box, probably the Misc "F" box.

I always put comics in alphabetical order in the longbox. I've tried variations with story arcs, publishers, etc, but when it comes to finding something later - alphabetical is best for me.

If I want to go back and read FC later, I don't want to have to try to remember what all the essential tie-in's were and where they fit. This really should have been released as a mini-series anyway, like Superman Beyond.
