I would like to thank all those who voted for Comic Critics!

I know the only reason we won is because Sean and I are posters here at CBR, but we do appreciate the thoughts.

Now go read some more webcomics. There are many way better than ours.

Bingo!

Congratulations, but I'm mostly webcomic ignorant.

Which do you enjoy and would recommend?

I'm completely webcomic ignorant. What do you suggest?

It depends on what kind of stories you enjoy.

I've never been so happy with a Corrie result list as this. Yay!

You wanna know something funny, Joe?

You could have broken the tie for Favorite Limited/Mini Series between Final Crisis (DC) & Hellboy: the Crooked Man (Dark Horse). You left your vote as deciding between the two.

You did vote for All Star Superman #10 (DC).

Plus you only voted in a few categories.

Hahahahahahahaha! I totally forgot to update that!

And now I'm glad I did. It's like I MADE THEM WIN!

Yeah, this was a strong selection this year.

Well done, CBR!

I voted for your comic despite Sean's presence here, not because of.

It really does amuse me and capture a slice of what it's like to walk in this nerdy world.

You did vote for All Star Superman #10 (DC).

Plus you only voted in a few categories.

I don't count the All Star issue because it wasn't what I really wanted to win and I picked it because I liked it a lot compared to the other choices. I only really care about my original nominations.

I was bummed about what won too. I haven't liked at all X-Force, Captain Britain MI13, and Captain America in 2008 and it's hard to believe how many people voted for them. So hard to believe that I feel there must have been...

SHENANIGANS!

This has to be a joke - of all the 2008 DC issues, this won? :frown:

Pretty darned classy, CBR .

You didn't even nominate in that category during the nominations phase.

You didn't even nominate in that category during the nominations phase.

That doesn't really have anything to do with how d newton may feel about whether the choice for All Star Superman is arbitrary or undeserving.

Personally, even though I really liked all the All Star Superman issues, I wanted Superman 680 to win. That Krypto stuff got me good.

He could have nominated something and maybe it could have got to the finals and maybe could have won. But by not nominating, you can't really fault other people's choice.

It's kinda of like complaining about politicians when you don't vote. Sure you may not like what they are doing, but you didn't do anything to change it.

He could have nominated something and maybe it could have got to the finals and maybe could have won. But by not nominating, you can't really fault other people's choice.

But you can always have an opinion and express that opinion. They have even created places on the internet that are all about discussions and voicing opinions about common interests, like comic books. They are called forums....

Oh hey, This is a forum. And it's all about the results of the corries. So I guess anyone can come here and comment they on results whether or not they voted.

For example if X-Force had won in a category I hadn't voted in I would still want to comment on how crazy it is that X-Force won a category since I a not a fan, even a little bit, of that title.

...Wait X-Force won a category.

I DECLARE SHENANIGANS!

Brandon Hanvey

I'm not saying he can't voice his opinion. It just sounds a little hollow to me since he didn't even nominate in that category.

Plus I think your example is different. Not voting in the finals is different than not nominating.

If you don't like any of the finalist, just astain. But to pass on nominating something is just letting others chose the finalists.

But how can you not speak up when titles that are incredibly horrible (my opinion only) like X-Force, Captain Britain MI13, and Captain America (2008) win a best of anything whether you were a part of the voting process or not.

Captain America (2008) especially sucks in my opinion and only some sort of shenanigan could have propelled it above titles like Fables and The Walking Dead.

Shenanigans!

Different people like different kinds of books.

Personally I think the list was lacking in some areas during the nomination phase. But that's just the indie snob in me, and it doesn't really bother me that much since I still enjoy the books I like.

Chris N

You enjoy the books the like?

What an odd idea.

Captain America seems like a good series to me, but I'm over a year behind on it, so I'm not fit to judge. All-Star Superman seems excellent to me, but I'm a few issues behind on that too.

Of the five categories that you voted in the finals, none finished first.

Easily the best comic of the year, this win was the one that made me smile.

Is the turnout always this low though? Only about 50 votes, at most? I wish we had a better nomination process too, as there were a ton of books that were likely more deserving that didn't even get mentioned.
