What would it take for you not to want to touch this series even if you are a fan of the characters and concepts?
For me i see marvel starting the title off with a bad writer coupled with an odd artist like Larry Stroman. This would be the death of the series for me.

I give every team X-book a chance, so I'll go for it.
I hope it's the originals though. Also, Marjorie & Pollina plz!

Bachalo on art would be hot sex.
But I will buy the first issue regardless of writer/artist/characters.

i would like them to use a current hot artist like finch or mcniven. Pull in some new readers and once the book has readers then try the other artists. It would be interesting seeing Chris take on the originals though because I dont recall seeing that be done before.

No. They tried this already, New Mutants became New X-Men.
I prefer the X-Force series, as the graduated X-Men.

I'll probably be giving the book a try but that depends on previews and such.
I suspect the creative team will be CB Cebulski and Diogenes Neves.

Depends on the creative team/characters. If it's just Young X-Men with a different name and creative team I will completely ignore it. I hope Cebulski is on it, he's rekindled my faith in salvaging Pixie as a character... I didn't think that could ever happen.

I might, but I'm really really really disappointed that Sam is back to this than back with his new team the X-Men.

I will definitely give it a try.
I missed the original series (in the 80s). I hope the new New Mutants series featuring mostly the original members with some of the newer generation of mutants (Gen-X, New X-Men).

I'm actually a little surprised how so far it seems like people are being cautious with this book.

Well for Cebulski there's: the fact that I don't think he's attached to an ongoing title currently so he's available, he's a stated fan of the New Mutants, is writing X-Infernus which has been implied to be leading into the new series, and lastly I recall reading that he had more coming from the X-Office.
For the artist it's simply that Neves is attached to the X-Office right now and is doing the cover to the New Mutants saga that precedes the title.
Just guesses though.
I'm actually a little surprised how so far it seems like people are being cautious with this book.
Well considering how badly Young X-Men went down I'm not surprised at all.

I guess some of us don't wanna get our hearts broken is all.
I'll sure as heck give it a shot and see does it take my fancy, but for me it's whether the characters will hold my interest ore then who the creative team is.

I'll be interested to see the justification they give for putting the characters back together again. No point just doing a reset if it doesn't make sense, storywise.
And I'd like Scottie Young on art.

I will buy it if Guggenheim is the writer and is allowed to bring in his recently created mutants to continue their story. Perhaps include some of the original New Mutants to provide training and mentorship.

I'm interested in seeing a new New Mutants book. I wonder if it'll be about the original New Mutants and it'll be about them having different adventures while training and being mentors for the New/Young X-Men kids OR it's just going to be just about the original New Mutants.

I definitely want to see which charaters are in it. I quite like Cannonball as an X-Man, and I like him interacting with the other X-Men. I also want to know why they're together again. I'm guessing the title of the book is New Mutants, but they're still X-Men. Just a specific squad.

Why would they cancel Young X-Men if they were just going to do the exact same thing in this book?

i'm most likely not going to pick this up because marvel's already tried it (unsuccessfully) a few times before.
i'd rather see some of the as x-men and others elsewhere in various supporting roles.
probably the only thing that could get me to pick up another new mutants series would be if it was done by creators that i couldn't pass on, which is admittedly unlikely.

This'll be the creative team: Peter Milligan , John Paul Leon 3 and Bill Sienkiewicz with colors by Dan Brown.
Come on, Nick, I know you can make it happen!!!!
David Yardin would be pretty cool too imo.

The only way I would not pick this up is if the creative team consisted of CC and Larry Strohman or Yannick Paquette.

I hope its not exclusively early New Mutants. That is their problem. They're far too cliquey. If you add in ANY other character, its called "X-Men". But why can't there be a New Mutants book with say, Rogue and Iceman on a team of prodminantly NM characters? The thing with X-Men is that they're open for new characters, pre-existing, and satellite characters. NM is either new or old, no in between. Why can't NM have Firestar? Empath? Warpath? Siryn? Shatterstar?
Because that would change the clique. I want a book with Magma, Sunspot, Magik, Cannonball, Iceman, Rogue, and Karma. Why couldn't that be New Mutants? It still fits. All similar age group. And it would SELL. Put Rogue in and it sells!
I will read it if it focuses a lot on Karma, Sunspot, and Magma. If its all Cannonball and Mirage, I'll be annoyed. And it can't be TOO exclusive. Allow guest stars, honorary members, or outsiders to hang around!
They'll probably all be at Greymalkin Industries. So if an emergency arises, its suddenly "OK, NM, we got this covered!" And then Armor and Gentle come along and are all "We're X-Men too! Let us help!" And they just go "Hey, this is OUR book! No invites!"
Sounds weird. I hope they do something smart with it. And I hope the artist and wrtier are a good choice. I'm down for it regardless, I just hope it isn't a bummer.

It'd be awesome to see C.B. Cebulski plus the guy on X-Infernus, Diogenes Neves, Alina Urusov, or Chris Bachalo.
I think Stuart Immonen would also be EXCELLENT. Or Skottie Young, or Terry Dodson, or Mike Choi. Someone TALENTED. If they give us Stroman, Paquette, or any other average or below average artist, I will be very disappointed. And I hope they all have individual costumes. I like Karma in her current uniform, but Magma, Moonstar, and Sunspot need help. Cannonball is set. This is his iconic appearance. And Magik should wear a human variation of her Darkchylde costume. Like, minus the goat legs.

Probably not. I didn't really jump on board with the X-Men until the 90s, so my version of the New Mutants was Generation X. With the exception of Cannonball, I don't really know or care about any of the original New Mutants, so bringing them back again doesn't do a whole lot to pique my interest.

I ain't buying it, I've been burned by the last creative team with Young X-men
They would have to get Brubaker, Slott, Fraction, Millar, Ennis writing before I touch another New Mutants/Young X-men title

Maybe, depends on the roster AND the creative team. I have no ingrown loyalty to the franchise but a few of the characters do interest me.

For me, it depends on BOTH, who the team consists of and who the creative team is. If it is mainly the original NM then I am more likely to pick it up, no matter who the creative team is.

I'd welcome a Chris Claremont/Rob Liefeld New Mutants series.
I'd also welcome Bob McLeod involvement as an inker! Mike Zeck never looked better than when McLeod inked him on Kraven's Last Hunt, and I also think New Mutants was the best Sal Buscema ever looked, inked by Bob.

Hopefully they don't repeat the Young X-Men mistake, aka flimsy writing coupled with drab art.
I think I would have sex with a New Mutants comic if it were drawn by Bachalo or Sienkiewicz. I am more than a bit concerned that CC may be writing it, but think there is just as much of an argument that Cebulski would be writing. Again, hopefully Marvel has learned from their mistakes, and wouldn't put CC on this, at least not ALONE.
Of course if Kyle/Yost are at the helm, I will need to buy multiple copies, because the first one will be unreadable after being baptised with my many, many babies.
Though I suppose I could always sell it to a Japanese man on eBay.

Bill Sienkiewicz needs to at least do the covers for the first arc...at least. If he did interior art for the run....i'd be a feline in catnip.
As for writers.....if it could truly be anyone...i know Joss Whedon polarizes people (there are aspects to his writing i don't like) however....i bet his interpretation of Magik would be the stuff of legend for her fans.
Neil Gaiman i love also..he'd write a great Magik....really delve into the mysticism elements of the series..he'd also have a wicked sense of humor with Warlock.
Marjorie Liu would also be great..she has a good sense of drama...knows how to tell a story. C.B. Cebulski would be fine, also.
Guggenheim, Claremont, Liefeld, and Weezie - keep these writers the Limbo away from my new mutants.

I don't absolutely commit to anything until I know what it actually is, but if the book is about the original team, a lot would have to happen for me not to at least try it.

Agree with this. I have no interest in the further adventures of Ink & Greymalkin thanks.
I would love all the original New mutants to be in this. Characters like Magma, Sunspot, Karma haven't really had a proper chance to shine in ages & I always loved the interaction between the team.
the only things that would really turn me off were if Bird Brain, Jubilee or a reincarnated Feral were on the team.
Mercury, Hellion, Anole & Loa would also be good on the team.

Harsh, but not inaccurate. My gut reaction is that there's not a power on Earth that could stop me from buying a new New Mutants series with the original cast, but I think we've all seen examples of characters we really love being written in books we really don't like.
For me it's a definite buy at first, to be fully decided on after the first two or three storylines.

I do not see Loa or Mercury fitting with the team. I think they would quickly become wallpaper.
