I refuse to take anybody moaning about anyone being "retconned" into something, or how they have been "destroyed" as to something relating to their background.
I hereby present to you, Britain - In Mutant Mess.
Pixie - Now has changed and been americanised to fit the mainstream market. The fact she is Welsh has only ever been mentioned once. Also, she is now crazy.
Chamber - his DNA has been re-structured so he is now Egyptian. someone who could have represented the youth of Britain, is well. . .broke.
Psylocke -Yes, Well. the most offensive character in history.
Meggan - She was not even allowed her own appearance. she was warped into Brian's "Ideal woman". who is basically Heidi Klum. also, she was a Black woman for a few issues. Oh, and that time she kept turning into a blue German. Fantastic. What do you really look like Dear?
Wolfsbane - Generally, her dialogue is so. . ."Scottish" it borders on Parody. Also, she is now crazy.
Sage - An afghani woman with Welsh roots. Sadly, we are not allowed to keep this. So a blonde haired blue eyed buxom princess is invented in her place to overtake her. Oh, and now she's made of light. Also, now she is crazy.
Jamie Braddock - Evil, wears hoop ear-rings and a thong. Also, he is crazy.
Captain Britain. - the 6"6 Blonde Haired, Blue eyed Super-Brit. Yes, because that is realistic. Also, an abusive drunk.
I cannot be thinking of any more, as this is a thinly veiled "Stop complaining", with a sad excuse for a thread on top.
So yes, we can all moan. It's easy. Many groups of people have under-representation.
Can you please get over it.
This panel perfectly sums up my thoughts

There aren't enough comics sold in the entire UK to compete with comic sales in Cairo. Until that changes, Egypt will continue poaching your people for characters.

Re Captain Britain. Love that you pick everything except the fact the guy calls himself Captain Britain and doesn't get laughed at in public. :D
Meggan's just irritating, Wolfsbane was, highly so, then we had PAD and will be interesting to see how she pans out in X-Force - you know, when she can actually string a sentance together.
Chamber's fate SUCKS. :(
On the plus side we do have Wisdom, stereotypical chain smoking likely boy, but at least it's a modern stereotype.

My favorite British character is June Buckridge (played by Beryl Reid) in The Killing of Sister George (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0063185/). I love when she tells her producer to "Kindly shut your big Australian mouth."

I'm actually a bit surprised he hasn't been knighted for creating Captain Britain. Sir Chris Claremont has a nice ring to it. I expect JAU to get on the line to Scotland Yard about this right away. They have the ear of the Queen.

Lush = yes, go right ahead and use this word often.

He's Canadian, not Scottish.
Zaran
A villain, not a hero, and no evidence he is Scottish. He's British, and he lived in Scotland while training himself to hunt and trap, but we don't know which part of Britain he initially hales from.
England
Elsa Bloodstone
Born in Boston, a US citizen.
Ghost Girl
She's Scottish, not English
Mordred
Mordred was born in what is now the Orkneys, so he's Scottish, not English.
Slaymaster
We don't know Slaymaster's nationality.
Alistaire Stuart, Alysande Stuart
Both Scottish
Dai Thomas
Welsh, and listed twice.
Wales
Captain Cymru, Pixie (Megan Gwynn), Red Dragon (Super Heroes of Europe), Stinger (Genetix), Damian Tryp, Dai Thomas
You can add Gog (Owen Llewelyn) of the Super Soldiers, and y Ddraig Goch (aka Dave Griffin, the Welsh Dragon) to the Welsh list.

I didn’t really read through the list, just copied from the Comicvine website. Your right about the characters though. I never thought slaymaster was british.

Think Pixie needs phrases like:
"where to then?"
"come by 'ere, and i'll tell you a question"
"I'll be there now in a minute"
"CWTCH"
"Safe bra!"
"Achi fi"
"Bore da"

She is not British, but she was raised and educated in Britain. This gives us more than enough reason to claim her. Also, she thinks she is British.
DO YOU THINK THIS LETTER ON MY CHEST STANDS FOR AMERICA?
Etc.

Oh lordy I can't believe there is a Captain Cymru!! That sound like one of those road safety characters who used to visit our school & talk about the dangers of running across a motorway. Has anyone got a picture of him?
If Pixie is going to be staying around, the writers should definitely do a story where Pixie & WOlverine go out drinking & being the good Cardiff lass she is, she completely drinks him under the table & follows this by a belting karaokee rendition of Bonnie Tyler's "Total eclipse of the heart."
Psylocke will be in the corner of the pub dropping her knickers for any passing trade.

They should let British members of CBR write a Pixie: Origins story with all of this happening.

Captain Cymru is BONNIE TYLER with a red tint to her luxious locks!!!
I second the motion of allowing us Brits to write Pixie's background. We could include...
1) Single mother at 13
2) Addiction to lottery scratch cards
3) A notorious shop lifter
We could make this story greater than the Dark Phoenix saga!

All British characters should strive to be like Lila Tournay.

I agree. If they forced Nightcrawler to be more american, I don't think he'd be nearly as popular.
