This was a fun issue.

It starts with a fight between Jaime and a collection of Ted's Rogues (including Carapax, who's "upgraded" to steampunk. If you don't know who Carapax is, that's sort of the point.)

After beating them fairly easily, Jaime meets up with Traci, Paco, and Brenda, who are going to a school dance as two couples. (Paco refuses to wear pants.)

At the dance, a group of Reach infiltrators appear. After Jaime pulls a Peter Parker/Clark Kent style type stunt to protect his secret identity (which in a brillint twist, fools absolutely nobody), the infiltrators reveal they are the Khaji-Da Revolutionary Army, who have overcome their Reach program thanks to the message left by the scarab back in issue 25. They've freed several worlds from Reach control, and want Jaime to help them free the Earth from oppressive governments like Syria, North Korea and the United States.

Obviously Jaime disagrees with their methods and wants them to leave the planet alone. They respond by ignoring the one condition Khaji Da requested in their message, which was a ban on killing, and proceed to attack Jaime.

Fantastic issue, and easily book of the week for me. I love Paco.

"I'm trying to usher in a pantsless society, Brenda. I've never made a secret of this."

Gods I'm going to miss this book.
