I don't know if iTunes is easier than Amazon to use for buying music. With Amazon, I had to install a downloader, download the files, remove them from Windows Media Player (where they got added automatically), redo the tags to my liking, move them to my external drive with all my other music, then redo my music library in WMP.
With iTunes, I had to install iTunes, download the files, burn them to CD, rip them back to mp3s (to use on my mp3 player, Winamp, and WMP), redo the tags to my liking, move them to my external drive with all my other music, then redo my music library in WMP.
Frankly, neither is a great solution (unless you have an iPod and aren't picky about organization). I used get much better service downloading from peer-to-peer networks back in the day.
I'm sticking with buying CDs. It's the same amount of work to get the mp3s ripped and organized how I like 'em while also having a physical backup, having artwork/liner notes/lyrics, and no need to burn CDs to listen in my car.
