As all of us know, Darwyn Cooke's DC: The New Frontier has a prime continuity in when each character enters their familar form in the story: Barry Allen gets his powers in '56, the year he as The Flash debuted, as much as J'onn J'ozz arrives on Earth in '53 because that is when his prototype was featured in that year, and became John Jones in '55 because he himself and as the Martian Manhunter debuted that year. This goes on for The Challengers of the Unknown, becoming the team in '57, and Hal Jordan being handed the ring in '59, his debut year.

But as those characters who debuted and have their origins as part of the story, other characters who had already debuted in the story don't give that much information on when they became who they are. People like the JSA, the Losers, Blackhawks, Green Arrow and Speedy, and ultimatly Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman.

When do you think they debuted in the New Frontier universe? Is it the same as the rest (Superman in '38, Batman '39, '41 for Wonder Woman), or is it probably different? I remember Darwyn Cooke's interview on Fanboy Radio where he said that he "had to cheat because Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman have been around longer", and didn't give much else than that. I don't know what he meant by that. We do know that Diana was around during the war, so that does say '41 by me. But Superman or Batman? All that we know, including the JSA, is that they debuted before the story (JSA obviously in 1940). And plus, you have to add their ages in relation to how they appear in the book.

So when in your mind do you think they appeared?

I like them appearing in the years they first appeared in comics.
