i need a gaycation

where should my bf and i go on vacation?

we want a beach, privacy and someplace where the locals won't beat us up

any ideas?

A lot of people would tell you South Beach in Miami... but we really like *staying* in Ft. Lauderdale better. Don't go too far up the beach to the North of Ft. L, because there's a "Bush-ite" section; but middle and south there's some cool places.

Also, there's a clothing optional public beach. Google "Haulover Beach, Florida." It's got life guards, we go there a lot, and last time we heard they were putting in public restrooms.

Lot's of good restaurants in Ft. Lauderdale (Mango's is awesome), the Riverwalk area is beautiful, and there's some great bar and grill's, too. Plus, if you *want* to take in the Sout Beach scene, Miami is only 30 min. or so away (but parking at South beach sucks, so your best bet is to do it on one day, park in a parking garage, and stay there for hours.

We love Ft. Lauderdale, and go there every chance we get. :smile:

no ideas on Beaches, but my Partner and I have had wonderful experiences in:

Vegas (staying at Flamingo, and playing at Mandalay Bay (nice pool), and Tropicana).

Orlando -- the Disney complex is easily one of the most gay friendly theme parks we have EVER been in (partiularly Animal Kingdom)

and Baton Rouge, La.

By the way, are you into the fetish scene at all? Parties, dressing in leather, latex, vinyl, etc.? If you are, I can recommend a really good store down there, plus they run some really good parties once a month: they rent a club (or a room in a club), and keep good security, etc., and they're very gay-friendly. They're the only fetish parties we go too, because the safety is very good, and the people are great.

San Francisco's where it's at, dude.

Granted...it's a little cold right now. But in the summer, there's warm all gay-all nude or all gay non-nude OR EVEN not all gay non nude beaches to choose from.

Privacy is key, although here nobody cares who you're bumping.

AND, the locals will not only NOT beat you up, we'll throw you a parade. A big one, too.
