View Full Version : Yesterday was our 5 year Anniversary
in "gay years", that's our Golden Anniversary :p
Yep, I first met my sweetie on 1/23/04 (1234 -- an easy as all hell date to remember).
we went out to a very nice dinner, drank a whole bottle of wine, and then I came home and passed out -- so no 'versary sex for me!
oh well, I love him with all my heart anyways :)

Thanks y'all.
with all the Job related stress going on lately (as in, am I still going to be employed in the next week?), it was really nice to go out.
we're going out again tonight with some friends to do an "5 Years and 1 day" dinner.
and yes, MacQ, I AM so much happier since I met him.
and Cronin? We're ALL feeling old. . LOL
So... You gonna untie him anytime soon?
puh-lease,
I wasn't sober enough to untie my shoes last night.

Man, what's with this whole "gay years" thing?
My roommate keeps getting drunk and talking about how he's ancient at age 25 and how he doesn't expect to hit 40 and all this stuff where he keeps harping on "gay years".
You guys should live longer. I mean, anything that was ever predominantly a risk for gays (hate crimes, bad insurance, etc.) should be at least slowly disappearing with awareness and some baby steps progress that's been made. You're less likely to have the stress of unplanned kids although that may be countered by the stress of trying to meet people.
"Gay years" makes me sad. I just don't get where it comes from.

Well, it can mean gay *relationships* lifespan, too---there's sometimes a bit of a feeling of fragility, since gays can't marry in most places, and with them being a much smaller population and all, and with many not *wanting* a permanent relationship... finding someone who not only *does* want a lifelong relationship, but also is someone who is compatible with you... it ain't easy.
I *think* bert was referring to all that, with the "gay years" thing.
Think of how hard it is for a straight guy to find a compatible, lifelong partner. Now multiply that by, maybe, a factor of ten. What you tend to get, if you're someone wanting lifelong, is a lot of relationships that you *think* might work, that end up not lasting very long at all.

Chris has already answered, and she pretty much nailed the basis.
and of course, I was teasing. . since the conservatives think we gay guys fuck anything that moves, and that loving, stable relationships don't last among gays.
so guys together for a month = approx. a year.
