Personally I know a lot of people like the no-stick teflon stuff, but I prefer the regular old standard issue.

I like to brown most meats (especially chicken and pork) before adding them to most dishes, for this i like to use the classic cast-iron skillet.

The non-stick stuff is okay in certain circumstances. Otherwise, the teflon coating has a tendency to get scraped off if you do any stirring, and you get little flakes of teflon in your food. No fun. Yeah, I prefer the regular stuff, too.

I just worry about that stuff peeling off and getting into my food.

My pots all need a really good scrub with a wire brush. The insides and sides are shiny....mmmmmmm shiiiiiiiinnnnneeeeeeey.......but the bases are really stained. tsk tsk
