Brazilian model dies - AWFUL details...

I read yesterday about a Brazilian model - Mariana Bridi da Costa - who was a former Miss World contestant (came in 4th) in 2007.

Her doctor misdiagnosed her with kidney stones back in December, and she almost immediately fell ill. Turns out it was necrotic septicemia (toxins in the blood that kill cells completely - INCREDIBLY FATAL).

So because of the misdiagnosis.......she had her hand and feet amputated earlier this month.

.....and this morning, she died of a heart attack.

She was 20 years old.

I'd seen coverage on this on The Young Turks website last night, but at the time, they were just reporting the story and her amputations, she was still alive.

Poor girl. I saw her pictures; she was a very lovely young woman with her life ahead of her. Thoughts and prayers to her family. :frown:

I was reading about that on CNN...poor girl.

It is terrifying how wrong the body can go.

That's just really sad and pretty scary too. Her family must be devestated.
