For those you have read this issue, what did you think of it?
I thought it was amazing. The story was great, and the art was very good too.
When Slade is thinking about all of those he loves, that was pretty sad. He really lost a lot, his best friend, a daughter, and two sons.
The fight between him and Rose was good too.
We get to see just how good his armor is, it stood up to a helicopter Gatling gun with ease (but can't take a sword?)
He is re-inventing himself. He wants to abandon his old life, he wants to start over.
He even finds a new woman to care for, to love, and to create a family with.
He also said that he does not want Rose to follow in his foot steps. He wants her to be different then him and live a better life.
Also we find out that Rose's precog is not ESP, it is more like looking for signs, and reading people to predict their next move, like Cassandra Cain.

story was great, reminded me of the slade from the 80's and 90's
nice to see some flashback and a little twist on his healing factor.
the art was so so .
I think it's high time for another deathstroke the terminator series

Wow, this actually sounds...somewhat promising. I loved the old Deathstroke series, and always preferred Slade the Anti-Hero to Slade the outright villain. Plus, he's been overplayed the past few years and it'll be nice to see him take a "break" for a little bit.

I bought this issue mostly because it was Hine writing and thought it was alright. It seem to read more for generally bigger DC fans, people who have more knowledge of the character and the verse. i only know Slade vaguely through the Titans cartoon show and a Titan trade I read.
I did love the beginning though with Slade talking to his dead family members and holy boy is his relationship with Rose something!
Loved Hine having fun with the violence also. In the words of Slade himself, "Sweet."
Also, if you guys want, c'mon by Hine's forum to discuss and even ask questions on it. http://www.imagecomics.com/messageboard/viewforum.php?f=37

What? It seems totally different than what we're seeing on Terror Titans...it is ESP.

I thought it wasn't that bad sure some of the art could've looked better but in hindsight it was a eye-opening issue. I like how he takes things into his own hands. We've been itching to see a character take charge of his life without letting the universe's events dictate these things. Both Marvel and DC.

I know!
Slade's exact words:
"You know how your precog works? It's not magic. It's the ability to instincivily read an opponent's intentions through the flicker of an eye, a single bead of sweat, the slightest muscular twitch."
That didn't look like a woman to me, she looked like a fifteen year old runaway same age as Terra was.
And knowing Deathstroke's...proclivities that is not a good thing.

I was mixed on this issue, but in the end it did remind of the late 80's/early 90's Deathstroke the Terminator. And after these past several years of uber-evil violence on his part, it's a good and necessary change.

Maybe this is like in the Dark Knight movie in order to give him more freedom of movement he has to allow for small openings that a blade can get in.

Guess the fact that Geo-Force (who can trade punches with Superman) was the one who put the sword through Slade don't mean nothing, huh?

Well Green Arrow has done it as well in the past. I have not read the book, one shots are for suckers.

Well that's so wrong it's mind boggling.... her precognitive powers emerged for the first time when she had a lengthy vision of Deathstroke's future....

I thought this issue was really something, Slade is shaping up to be a bad ass one again.

This seemed like a really pointless oneshot to me. The killer Deathstroke decides he's going to decide who to kill from now on because... because. Like that even means anything. This whole issue was just stumbling along, trying to find some point in doing a oneshot for Slade. There wasn't one. He got stabbed. It's not a big deal. He healed from it like it was a scratch. Don't try to make it into a big deal at the same time.
Slade's not like Prometheus. He was already being portrayed as a badass so wasn't in need of anything to fix him. He's also not Grundy, who could use some deeper exploration. Johns and Meltzer have put a lot into Slade these past few years. He's been explored a ton. Hine had nothing new to say about the character. This issue was just retreading ground that has already been better covered and fumbling details like Rose's precognitive power.
Man. This was more of a waste than the Justice League fill-in issue.
they never answered the question about his, 'regenerative' powers though! How can he heal up, but the stupid eye does not!

that was annoying. sure, I can handle his armor withstanding it, but the fact that he didn't even move? comeon! Do the laws of physics apply in this book? Or is he just that strong/balanced?

I was always curious about that
This was kind of a let down, pretty much just a get out of jail free story. David Hine wrote a pretty good Two-Face one shot last summer and I kind of hoped this would be a repeat, but I don't think it was nearly as good. The end was kind of creepy.

What's funny is that the majority here loved the book the offical CBR review is one star out of five.

I think his regen maybe a choice, he decides NOT to grow his eye back, maybe as a reminder? Who knows. Maybe it happened before his regen abilities were introduced or awoken?

A better question is Wilson actually blind in one eye. We've always seen him with an eyepatch on so it could all be for show.

I thought the issue was a little disappointing - it didn't really go anywhere or achieve much. Plus Georges Jeanty has done much better artwork.
Then again, maybe I'm comparing it to the Prometheus issue which I thought was pretty damn good.

I gotta say that this issue was a huge disappointment. I think this was a chance to fix Slade and it failed miserably. Maybe explain why Deathstroke has gone form the the three dimensional character of a decade ago to the two dimensional crap we've seen ever since Meltzer used him in Identity Crisis. It seemed like Slade was showing a little of his old self in his nightmare and with the Rose is better off without him stuff (which we've heard too many damn times before), but then again he acts like the two dimensional villain we've had since Identity Crisis for the rest of the story and don't even get me started on the crap with him picking up a runaway at the end. I really wanted to use this issue to restore Slade instead it was just more crapping on his memory. As far as i'm concerned Slade's been dead since the first issue of Identity Crisis and this has just been an impostor or a clone ever since

in the actual issue, they show his meaty, eyeless hole.

He even finds a new woman to care for, to love, and to create a family with.
To me it looked like a new surrogate daughter for him. To... you know... replace the other one.
Given how obvious the setup is you just KNOW in a few years this new "daughter" will be a villain who goes on a mission to kill Rose out of jealousy. The only upside of such a cliched and obvious setup will be that it will probably finally end the hero/villain bouncing back and forth, which has gotten annoying, with Rose and out of necessity plant her on the hero side.
Overall the book was okay though. A little pretentious at points.

Deathstroke vs Titans has been done to death recently, so my bet is that Deathstroke is being set up as an Outsiders villain.
My only justification of this is that Geo-Force is on the roster and that Slade seems to not want anything to do with Jericho or Rose

depending on what the new outsiders look like otherwise he may stay a Green Arrow bad buy with various other spots popping up.
