View Full Version : Why wasn't the Hulk involved in Secret Invasion?

I understand why the Hulk wasn't involved from a marketing standpoint,he is too strong and would make the entire event a redundant. I haven't kept up with the Hulk's book(i tried honestly...), did it ever address SI? The hulk is too powerful an asset for no one to consider trying to find him. I'd think Bruce Banner would have taken it upon to help any way possible. If spider-man and Norman Osborne can fight for a common cause, i think Iron man would let the Hulk slide for an easy win.:)

Depending on his personality, Hulk can be Veeerrryyyy easily misled by shapeshifters.

Cause Millar did that in Ults 1

Bendis will not go to that level.

Because we just had a Hulk-centric crossover.

That shouldn't have stopped them. How often do they give us an X-Men centric crossover?

Well, the events of Secret Invasion only happened in the span of a couple of days. Maybe it happened between the first arc of Hulk and the second arc, where he went to Vegas.

No, scratch that, that wouldn't line up with Ms. Marvel's mag.

Maybe it just hasn't caught up yet.

I just assume that Hulk was running around fighting Rulk during the invasion. That helps. I'll expect my No-Prize in the mail.

I don't think could use Hulk... I'm not sure the Hulk book has caught up with Secret Invasion yet. Stark still seems in charge of SHIELD.

To use Hulk in any way could be a spoiler.

I guess he could be manipulated easy, but during the onslaught fiasco, jean gray ripped Banner's mind out and let a completely mindless Hulk into the world. Now granted the stakes were much higher then, but it shows that the heros were willing to use the Hulk if they had to.

I was re-reading secret invasion #8 and thought that Hulk, Dr. strange, and Ghost Rider were just about the only people not present.....wait, were the X-men there?

It might have been nice to see the Hulk mix it up with some Super Skrulls, but honestly the event was so mediocre that I didn't really care he missed it. Unlike say, CW, which I wish the Hulk was around for. At any rate I seem to remember an interview a few months back where this question was asked and apparently Loeb didn't want anyone to use the Hulk or Red Hulk until his first arc was over.

I like the Hulk being it's own book. Only occasingly doing crossovers. That's the way it should be.

That's what I liked about Incredible Hulk. I didn't like Civil War, but Hulk was somewhere else so I could enjoy it.

Good question... there are a few characters I wonder about why they wernt involved, but Hulk is the main.

Hulk could have been shown and/or featured in the book without being directly "involved" in the story persay. I mean Howard the Duck showed up to fight some skrulls - Yu could have easily put Hulk or Rulk in there a time or two.

Thats the only reason im a hulk fan today. I was bored by CW centric stuff and just thought why not read Hulk in some planet just to see if its to my taste.
