That is.... really, REALLY blurry. I can barely read the red text.
I wonder if the Fantastic Four will show up in any of this.
Reed (and Tony to a lesser degree) really have an obligation to clean this mess up if things go wrong.

Definitely. Though honestly, he didn't come across as cool as he did when Ellis handled him. DNA is getting into this... very Bendis-esque habit of voicing all of their characters in very similar ways. I think it's fine when they handle Nova and even Star-Lord (though Giffen's is still more defining for me), but it's becoming somewhat ubiquitous on their part.
For the record, is there anyone more noteworthy than Jack Flag in 42?

That looks really great. I love the use of Jack and also of some obsure villians. The writer clearly did some digging on these.
Gorilla Man (Arthur Nagan)
Condor
Skeleton Ki
Bison
Kudos.

Doesn't seem too "Heroic" how the criminals were abandoned in the Negative zone to fend off who knows what. I can understand them opening the portal, and not giving a crap about whoelse uses it to invade earth.

Yeah, there was a definate unheroic vibe going on there.
Hopefully, the ones who escaped to the other side are organzing the Initiatve to bust in an save those people.

Wait, when the hell was 42 abandoned?
Not long after Blaastar attacked. The guards ran away and left the prisoners there to fend for themselves in the freaky alternate dimension.

I like the use of Condor, as he is an old foe of Nova's, hopefully this will tie into the Nova parts of War of Kings as well. One of the advantages of the same writers writng a number of books is that they can maintain consistency.
Back to GotG, this looks like a fanstastic issue and one that seems to centre on Star-Lord, which is great as he is one of my all time favourite Marvel characters and has not been used enough in the series so far.
Luckily I have this on standing order at my local comic shop so I won't miss it.

Now it is. Last night, it was blurry enough that the red text was hard-to-read, and the "debrief log" box was actually unreadable.

Aside from Blastaar, I really fail to see how this army amounts to a threat. Wooden ladders? Spears and torches?
I guess we can assume that Jack Flag isn't the Iron Patriot.
Not that he was a serious suspect... but I thought he was at least a possibility (with him maybe needing the suit to walk and such).

SI happened so quickly. With Reed and Tony both taken out right out of the gate, I don't think anyone was around to make the call to free the prisoners.
The prison seemed to be more Reeds thing rather than Starks, so it likely stayed intact while Stark tech went down. So I imagine the Invasion came and went without any effect on the prison whatsoever.

I hope Pelletier is coming back. But I wouldn't mind if Dustin Weaver took over if he didn't I really like what he has done on Kingbreaker. What is really awesome id Andrea Divito on Nova. I love the way he drew Nova in the first Annihilation. Marvel cosmic has some pretty talented artist. I hope this trend continues.

I guess that's because Annihilus took all the good stuff with him to the positive universe. These are just the guys he didn't want.

You know, with the portal to earth closed, what's to stop Starlord and the prisoners to escape where Starlord came from, namely the Kree homeworld, and crash into Ronan's and Crystal's wedding? If that happens,Ronan will be having nightmares with Peter Quill forever

I really didn't care for DiVito for Nova. It was very bland and generic for me. I wouldn't mind Steve Uy. His cover for last month was very fun.

If we saw Steve Uy on Nova, I guarantee you, the title would be cancelled very soon after. His art is too cartoonish.
Now, I'm going to suspect you have not read Nova from the beginning (1976), so I will forgive you about your DiVito comments. But as a reader from the beginning, I was very happy with DiVito's Nova. We long time Nova fans have not seen Nova like this, ever. Nova was a beast.
Some people do not like the straight forward art - I actually do. I hate artist who are so "non bland" that you cannot tell what the heck is going on (Bachalo rings a bell). I don't like scribbled hair, I do not like heroes to look like children - unless they are. Uy's heroes look tooooooo young.
Besides, we are reading a book about super heroes. And DiVito draws a great super hero form. The action looks great. If you can honestly tell me you did not like the picture of Nova tearing Annihilus a new one, then I know you have not been a Nova fan from the beginning.

Um...yeah, I wasn't reading Nova from way back then, partially because I wasn't alive but still, it doesn't mean I don't appreciate good art. DiVito's art, while nice, is just too bland for me. Nothing compelling about it whatsoever. Very, very generic, imo. And, yea, I agree Uy's heroes look too young. I just think Nova needs an artist with a bit more of flare, and excitement in his art team. This is the same reason I didn't care for Sean Chen on art, either. Nice, but nothing special.

I love the use of Jack Flag, following up on Thunderbolts continuity and all. But the hair ruins it. What's with that? Did one of the guards get bored while he was laid out in the hospital? His hair wasn't dyed when he was arrested. It's kind of annoying having continuity being followed so well with this except for one glaring, multicolored thing.
This whole Negative Zone story seems really off to be so far. So... what did Ronan do? He just happened to send Blastaar and Quill to the same planet in the whole Negative Zone that the 42 prison is situated on? Because stumbling across the 42 prison is one hell of a needle in a haystack to come across. And Blastaar is ruling the Negative Zone for the Kree... with spears and catapults. I have to say... the writing and art on this story isn't up to the level of the series' past stories.

Look, young whipper snapper:evilsmile:
Actually, I know we all see art differently (some people love Bachalo). What I was saying was, a lot of us have seen Nova art which was no where near as good as DiVito's. I lived through the Carmine Infantion days of Nova, and did not like it at all. So I'm not criticizing your opinion at all - I'm saying long time Nova fans have seen less stellar work.
But, again, I love DiVito's work. By chance, have you been enjoying Wellinton Alves' Nova?

LOL. Sorry for coming off as so condescending! I'm not quite that young, at the tender age of 28, but I agree. I also must say that I love Bachalo, but that's more because I grew up reading his stint on what I consider one of the finest comics ever, Generation X.
Very much so. His work is just dynamic enough for me to truly enjoy the story fully. It's a perfect synergy of art and story. Before, it was just story and that was it. And while I was staying with the book was because the story was good, and I really enjoyed Annihilation, I was pleased when Chen left the book. And while I really wanted Pelletier to stay on the title, I'll be pleased if Alves stays on for awhile longer.

I'm with 40yearoldnovafan on this I prefer the more straight forward storytelling. I have always enjoyed artists with a crisp clean style (i.e. George Perez, John Byrne, Alan Davis, Steve Epting, John Buscema.) I've never been a fan of Chris Bachalo or the Humberto Ramos type artist. I really think Divito is a great artist and always seems to be improving. I really enjoy Alves and his art on Nova. But this is what makes comics such a great medium because there is room for many different types of artists.
Divito bland? Your Crazy! haha jk
Divito drew the blank out of Thor Disassembled, StormBreaker, and WWH X-men, and of course Annihilation.
He can draw anything, aliens, tech, hot chicks, children, mystical realms, cosmic space, beasts, trolls, etc. Amazing battle scenes.
Looking over Annihilation right now, he draws everything at the exact moment for maximum impact, both in action and speech.
Also inked Annihilation himself, with minimal delays. Back on Nova, its gonna rock hard.

I would have also written Ramos (as an artist I cannot stomach), but I could not remember his name. To me, Ramos and Bachalo are like two very ugly sisters. I cannot tell who the characters are and what is going on during the scenes. When the two of them were drawing one of the X-men series my eyes bled. I did not want to read the issues. Sorry Dagger.
I have enjoyed Alves and will miss him. But I do so love the power in DiVito's art.

It's okay. Art's a subjective subject. If we all liked the same art style comics would be very bland indeed.
