That IS Glorian (in his Annihilation: Ronan revamp, or a fair approximation of it) on the preview pages, isn't it?

And we’re revealing that Darkhawk's origin is more firmly tied into specific events from the history of the Marvel U. So you're going to see some connections that seem pretty natural, especially given the bird-like nature of the character's armor. Connections, where you go, 'Oh shit! That makes perfect sense now.

Interesting. I assume Darkhawk's origins are going to be tied to the Shi'ar (the reference to the bird-like nature of the armor), which would certainly fit in with War of Kings, and seems like a really inspired way to tie him into the cosmic framework better than he currently is.

So i guess the armor is going to be tied to the shiar in some way.

Oh man I like the look of that new armor for the cover of issue 2. Much more streamlined and less blocky looking.

Hi C.B.!

This is so exciting! Darkhawk is due for a great return, and I know this will be it!

I notice an absence of Hollow and Mattie in the Loners comments. :( That makes me sad. But, I am still greatly looking forward to this.

I hope it is good enough to lead to an ongoing Darkhawk. Loved The Loners.

I loved the Loners as well... I just hope if another Ongoing or maybe even a miniseries after this one, will have a different writer.

Oh... I so hope that after "War of Kings" we see a new ongoing Darkhawk title. Possibly "Darkhawk and the Loners". Hmm, that has a good ring to it.

I doubt it. It appears that Darkhawk is going to have a different, more cosmic status quo. He probably isn't much of a Loner after this.

Yeah, I'm doubting it as well but I can always hope. I love Darkhawk but him with a cosmic status quo is, to me, a lot less interesting than him having Earth-based, more street-level status quo. Either way, let's see some Evilhawk!

It's good to see a younger creator enthusiastic about early 90's characters that were shunned for so long. There's so many of us out there that were introduced to comics through these characters as kids. One of my first few comics was Darkhawk #6, guest starring Cap and Daredevil, picked up at the corner drug store...

Now how about an awesome Death's Head relaunch spinning off the same Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S. story?

   Cebulski rocks dude!

I also throw my hat in for another Darkhawk ongoing! But I want a mixture of street level with the cosmic-ness!

I'm not sure I'm going to pick this up; I'm not a big fan of cosmic adventures in general, but I am curious to see the Loners again. I wonder if they'll get a new series out of this?

No. Cebulski said that he has nothing to do with Loners in this story. It spins out of his Nova appearance.

This is going to be great, Darkhawk was probably the best thing that came out of the '90's for me as a comic fan and now he's finally getting some shine from Marvel. I hope that between this mini and his appearance in WOK, it means that Darkhawk will be on the radar for possible getting his own title again or at least putting out his original series in paperback which would also rule.

Well that's not surprized, Steven....due to how THE LONERS Mini-series concluded....(And yes, I'd like to see Hollow and Mattie{Spider-Woman } stayed on the Team as well.....:frown: )....

....Anyway, The Preview Pages for [I]WAR OF KINGS: DARKHAWK #1 can be seen here (http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=preview&id=1983&disp=table)

The only thing I notice that seems to be out of place was the unnecessary rectangular block attached to Darkhawk's faceplate/shield.

Did a Cosmic Spotlight article on DH for newbies: http://www.cosmicbooknews.com/darkhawkcs

And sort of a Q and A with a fellow poster who recently just read the entire arc:

While I've always like Darkhawk, and am going to be picking up everything War Of Kings related anyway, I am sceptical as to whether Darkhawk can really make much of a difference in this upcoming war.

Darkhawk's power levels aren't anywhere near enough to pose a threat to the likes of Vulcan, Gladiator or pretty much anyone in the Imperial Guard.

Even against Vulcan's "ally", Blastaar, and his Negative Zone army, I doubt Darkhawk is powerful enough to last more than one round with the heavyweights in the "undercard" battle that makes up Blastaar's appearances.

I mean, anything Darkhawk can do, Nova can do better. Flight, strength, durability and energy powers? Nova is far more superior in everyway.

Will Darkhawk recieve a power-up of sorts to help counter his pretty much obsolete combat prowess in regards to this war?

I definitely think he will be getting a power up. In the War of King's Ascension (http://www.cosmicbooknews.com/dh1news) mini. Sure anything DH can do Nova can do better (maybe ) but Nova can't do it all!

So wait we have a 2 part Darkhawk that leads in to War of Kings and then WAR OF KINGS: Ascension starring Darkhawk in a four parter. I think I am falling in love with DnA and this War of Kings concept. More Cosmic all the time. Next thing you know I'll be collecting Star Trek or something weird.

Actually, if you glance at the next few solicits for his solo book, Nova may not be doing anything better than Darkhawk, at least for a spell.

LOL! Actually, the new STNG: The Last Generation has been really good. The art is just ok but the story is great. If you were a big fan of the show you would love it.

Time for this Power Ranger/ Silverhawk like hero to go to space where he belongs...Too many All-Stars in the planet Earth...he will be overlooked...Time for this warrior to grow up and get bloody. Besides I really enjoy every thing that happening in Marvel space right now. Here hoping that his ascension puts him in the same league as Nova's.

Well, that appears what is happening after reading the first issue that came out today! Frig, I had to go to three shops to get a copy!

Any spoilers?, I probably won't be able to get my comics for this week until Saturday so i'm curious to hear what Cebulski has planned for DH in this 2 part mini.
