I am officially at wat with Powerpoint

My sister just sent me a Powerpoint file and it´s GLORIOUS!
The photos are absolutely gorgeous to look at.
But...
Whoever %&$ did the file made the navigation a NIGHTMARE.
Every transition between images take a week and a half.
GAH!
Is there any way I can just tap a key in my keyboard and "extract" the images as jpegs to my hardrive?
I am *up here* with these PPS files, GRR!

did you download the file or are you looking at it through a server? tell her slideshare next time..

I downloaded it, she sent me the file attached to her e-mail.
It´s the transition time that is killing me, isn´t there a way to circumvent this?
Why do people do this, do they think it improves the presentation?
Powerpoint transitions are akin to lens flares in Photoshop....ugh!
