Did I miss something because there are rumors that Dakken will be one of the dark avengers and there are previews of him possibly fighting his pops again Wasnt Wolverine and his son singing kumbaya and were being friends again and a family? I've only been reading the spoilers, but I thought he and his pops worked all their problems out.

Not just rumors. It's confirmed from the solicits and cover.

It appears to have something to do with Wolverine: Origins, and Daken trying to steal that magic red sword that Logan killed Creed with. Maybe Norman wants it incase Wolverine becomes a problem.

I'm of a mind that maybe Daken working for Norman is either as a Double Agent, or part of the agreement that Emma Frost has with Norman. Which probably will piss Logan off and cause another rift in the X-Men.

Problem with that is that no one in the X-Men, not even Wolverine, seems to have the slightest control over Daken. I bet the back-stabbing bastard joins Osborn of his own cause he likes his offer better.

Erista would never do such a thing. He knows the meaning of the word loyalty. He should teach Daken

So would that make the whole sin storyline pointless if Daken reverts back to the character he originally was.

Did he ever change? I must have missed that part. As I read he just switched revenge target from Wolverine to Romulus when Xavier informed him of the later's deception. He stills seems willing to do whatever it takes to get said revenge.

He did calm down for a bit when he lost his memories, but now his original self seems to reassert itself again.

You've seen the cover to Dark Avengers #1, right? With all those heroes standing in the same poses as New Avengers #1? Well, the idea appears to be that all of those characters in Dark Avengers are Osborn, his former Thunderbolts chronies and a couple of others masquerading in new costumes. Iron Patriot may be Osborn in a mech armour, that Ms Marvel-a-like being Moonstone, Bullseye in the Hawkeye costume, and obviously that Venom not spider-man. The Wolverine-a-like is supposed to be Daken. There is also the rumour that although there is no Sentry-a-like on that cover the guy we saw in silhouette in the Dark Reign one shot, when Osborn brought him to the door, could well mean that since secret Invasion the Void has taken over the Sentry - and he's working with Osborn too...

I know there are those who will argue over how this can be squared with the X-Books, but lets be realistic here, the Avengers titles have a free reign at the moment. The X-Titles are the poor relation, and I doubt that Wolverine Origins will be worried about too much, right now.

wish they never made him the way they did. just his design...doesnt he look like one of the side characters you beat up on the streets in a classic side scroller?

Granted, there is a part of me that would like to smack him upside the head with a 'Grand Upper,' in a Streets of Rage stylee...

Also, we can't rule out the possibility that Osborn could be tricking Daken into thinking his Avengers are true heroes in order to get him to work for them. Daken has shown to be susceptible to mind games in the past and Osborn is a master manipulator. He may join the (Dark) Avengers to gain his father's respect in some shape or form only to eventually realize he has hooked up with a bunch of scumbags wolverine despises.

Osborne will probably promise him Romulus's head on a platter.

Looks like it.

I've gotten the feeling they're trying to make him into a bastard more so than being cool.

Although his design doesn't bug me all that much, they could've done much better. I imagine they were trying to make him look distinctive.

Osborne will probably promise him Romulus's head on a platter.

That's what I was thinking.

Yeah, re-reading the solicits... it does sound like Osborn is going to help Daken get revenge on Romulus.

We'll see how it all plays out. Though I'm passing on the Dark Reign: Wolverine: Origins that sets it up.

It is quite simple guys. Who is on the new avengers team with Logan ? The answer is Cap aka Bucky aka winter soldier. In other books it showed Daken's mom was killed by the winter soldier. Daken after he gets Romulus will so want to kill Bucky. Wolverine will try to stop him because Bucky was messed up in the head and brainwashed just like Logan and Daken were in the past. Daken won't care and the father and son relationship will be crumbled agian. norman will sweep in and offer his help to get bucky and Daken will join them to go after the New avengers and avenge his mom's death.

i know they meant well and were "trying" to be distinctive...but they did not succeed. its going to take a lot to make him a successful character for a spin off. idk many ppl whose favorite character is daken

I hope they bring back the Muramasa. That blade was cool.
