Junior's constant "They die or you die" query is "We all die" followed by the detonation of some well secreted C4 , imo. Or if you're Kyzer Soze you go with,
they die, then your friends and family die then you die, I suppose.

I would love to write that brick scene.
I have not read it yet but here is what i'd do.
I have tell the artist to do 10 panels all with the caption 1 hour later on them, showing junior still throwing the bricks and the bricks rapidly decreasing from the pile.
i would instruct the artist to really show the reader how much damage and pain bane is going through.
10 hours of getting hundreds of bricks tossed at you. The question is, does junior have the patience and supply?

I just read a truely funny response to this issue.
From the Newsarama forum
"Having just read the issue, I can honestly say that's not the most rattling thing Gail's come up with in these pages. She clearly has issues, and I think an intervention may be in order. After she finishes her run on this series, of course, because I will gladly enjoy the fruits of her disturbed condition.
And, Gail, if you need quotes for the trade, feel free to use this one for the front of the dust jacket: "Secret Six: Man, that's just f*#@ed up right there."

To be honest, I thought this was the weakest issue so far since the ongoing series started.
Maybe it's just the sequencing from the end of last issue to the beginning of this issue that chapped my hide, I cannot say. You know, the SS getting poisoned, a legion of villains at their necks, and suddenly we're given a bit of a verbal dismissal by Scandal's Victorian-styled friend.
Otherwise, I liked Bane's torture scene (Got a bit more characterization on Bane with that part of the issue), and Ragdoll was fairly amusing with his comments. So, overall, issue #5 was alright, but in my opinion the weakest of the 5 issues in this series.
Just flipped through it (since I can't read it until after work), and I have to say that the last page is all sorts of disturbing. Good job on Mrs. Scott's work.
Kind of reminded me of some granny porn pics I've seen, but I'll leave it at that.
The last page of SS #5 was OK for comics consumption, though, as I didn't notice any nipples.......Were they hidden from view? Or do she and Ragdoll have similar habits and she got them removed?

IGN Review:
http://comics.ign.com/articles/942/942731p1.html
And as great as Simone has been in this series and is in this issue, Nicola Scott is proving to be just as talented. The Simone/Scott dynamic that blossomed in the pages of Birds of Prey has now developed into one of the strongest creative relationships in comics. I can honestly say I can't think of many artists who could have delivered this issue's material as effectively as Scott did, which is a testament to both her talent and her fantastic dynamic with Simone. Credit is likewise deserved for Scott's longtime collaborator Doug Hazelwood, whose inking chores bring vibrant life to the book's visuals.
Such a wonderful and true compliment!
With Action Comics languishing in the mediocrity of "New Krypton," Morrison's Batman run finished and new Green Lantern issues coming few and far between, Secret Six is now the DC book I look forward to the most. Dare I say it, but it very well might be the best DC book on the stands
Might as well be honest.

The Ragdoll is an American cat breed with a medium-length, silky, rabbit-like coat. It is best known for its docile and placid temperament and affectionate nature.
So definitely no relationship to any of the Merkel family.
By the way, if Gail's normal than so is Daniel Way:

Fantastic. For some reason I was reminded a lot of some of the more horrifying issues of Preacher - which is a compliment. I remember the line in the YABs column taking the piss out of that book, but still I think it was the mix of black humour and body horror in this book that reminded me.
Getting a real Butch Cassidy and Sundance vibe....

Secret Six #5 (DC Comics)
There are five hundred and eight bricks in question. That's serious business. The brothers Aaron and Tig are back, and they're downright cheery. Junior's back, and he's quite determined. The team's falling in on each other and Cheshire has a bad day. With funny dialogue ("it's not dainty!"), solid action and the last couple of pages ... well, if they don't disturb you, there's something deeply not right inside your dome piece, home piece. This series just keeps on doing the job, and it's a sure winner between Gail Simone's alarming script and the intimate, detailed artwork of Nicola Scott, Doug Hazelwood, Rodney Ramos and Jason Wright

Well, she does wear a choker. Remember that old folk tale about the girl with the yellow ribbon (http://cleoland.pbwiki.com/The-Yellow-Ribbon)...?
Anyway, anecdote ahoy: so I'd just bought this issue yesterday, brought it home, and was kicking back to read it outside, with the radio on in the background. At the exact moment when I get to the bit on page five where Junior starts throwing the bricks, what should come on the radio but - I swear to God this is true - "Hit Me With Your Best Shot".

I'm more choked that it's not Bane on the cover; this issue was truly his, and it rattled my bones to read those pages.
This is, bar none, the best comic on the stands right now. The pacing, dialogue, action sequences, facial expressions and body language, are all top-notch. The violence is gripping and engaging, while still having consequences (and not being tossed in purely for shock value). For a book that's filled with villains, you have the characters behaving in far more justifiable and noble ways than most of the so-called "superhero" books being put out by any company.
Awesome, A+, numero uno stuff. I don't gush just to gush, anyone who's read my other incoherent rantings on Gail's stuff knows I'm not a sycophant, but Secret Six is easily my favourite book since Agent X, and it rocks even harder than that title did. I'd go so far as to say that it is at least on par with the original Suicide Squad, if not better.

are you yet another poster on these boards who doesn't buy comics?
Oh not at all, although this is the first time I've ever bought two or more titles written by Gail simultaneously.
I started buying comics in 1989 or so beginning with What If...? Before the internet was available (let alone Wiki), What If...? was a great way for people who were new to comics to learn about previous events in the Marvel universe like Spidey's symbiote, "Born Again," the trial of Reed Richards for saving Galactus' life, etc.
From there I got into X-Men, Spidey, Hulk, Captain America, X-Factor, New Mutants, and lots of others. After a couple of years I stopped buying comics.
A few years later I began reading again (just in time for the Clone Saga so...yay?). Still only Marvel stuff though. Then I stopped again.
I began reading again from '99 until 2002, which was when I began reading Thunderbolts and Grant Morrison's run on New X-Men. Gaining respect for the writing prowess of both Busiek and Morrison and learning years later that they'd moved to DC got me thinking about checking out Marvel's competition, though I never did at that time. I read Claremont's run on Fantastic Four which I thought was good and certainly better than the stories he wrote when he was moved back to the X-books. But most relevant to this discussion: I discovered Deadpool, which led to me reading my first Gail Simone story!
I stopped again until one day Joe Quesada popped up on The Colbert Report to promote Civil War. And despite both my dislike for Quesada's meddling with Spider-Man and disappointment with Civil War itself, it got me back into comics.
I read everything written by Peter David until his recent post on his website where he basically says "Hamas started this, so Israel is totally right to annihilate all of Gaza, and if civilians die then that's just too fucking bad." At which point I thought "fuck you, PAD" after trying to reason with him and failing, and I stopped buying X-Factor and She-Hulk. But aside from that I also bought World War Hulk, Civil War: Frontline (much to my eventual regret), Amazing Spider-Man until the end of OMD, Captain America until he got shot, Iron Man for a few issues, and others. One of those others was Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane, which I'll admit because I guess I'm secure in my masculinity or something.
I also discovered Runaways by lucky accident. If anybody knows Ann Nichols, I used to read some of her issue recaps and in one of them she mentioned that Runaways was one of her favourite books and told people they should read it. So when I came across digests of BKV's run for $7.99 U.S. and $12.75 Cdn. (six issues in each one), I grabbed 'em and I'm really glad I did. Eventually read Whedon's run (good) and am currently reading Moore's run (not as good, IMO, so I hope he steps it up).
Discovering how goddamn brilliant a writer Vaughan is made me pick up Y, which lived up to my expectations even though the ending isn't as happy as you'd hope and sometimes non-villainous characters did things that made me really angry at them (and I won't elaborate because I don't want to spoil it).
MightyGodKing's "I Should Write The Legion" campaign, coupled with watching the Legion of Super Heroes cartoon on the CW, got me interested in that book and I began buying it at the tail end of Bedard's run, which was the first time I ever bought anything published by DC (I know Vertigo's part of the DC family, but I'm pretty sure that I began buying LoSH before Y: The Last Man). I read several issues into Shooter's run without really being blown away or anything, then stopped after I read it was going to be cancelled.
Meanwhile, I was posting in different forums on CBR and found my way here because I saw there was politics being talked about and I wanted to talk about politics as well. After loitering around YABS for some time, I felt like I should maybe start buying Wonder Woman, so I did since I had faith in Gail and since I also had some financial wiggle room to squeeze in another book after dropping the Legion.
After reading WW I thought "you know, as good as she did on Deadpool back in the day, she seems to be even better now!" Thus did I pick up my first issue of Secret Six in order to get more Gail per month, and that brings us to the present! Phew!

I don't know why anyone would blame ME.
I write these lovely little frolicsome scripts, full of fairies and rainbows, and when I get them back from Nicola, they are all HORRID AND AWFUL.
So blame Nicola.

Dear Gail and Nicola,
Due to the future trauma and loss of sleep due to night terrors I will experience because of the last page of Secret Six #5, I will be sending you my therapy bills.
My reaction after tourning the last page, knowing it was goina be horrible?
I barely had time to read what ragdoll said before closing the book.
I touck me a few minutes to look at it again.
I have never seen ANYTHING so horrifying.or reacted so strongly to a book.
Nicola`s just got a way of drawing the eyes, that make it look alive.
Oh..and I gess Gail hellped make the comic good to.

The only thing that sucks about all of this is that I'm trying to get my friends into this series, and they all get trades only. So they won't be able to know what I'm talking about until AUGUST (according to chapters.ca).

Tea, piece of Aaron's neck, same thing.

It was weird every time she had a sip, ominous music would start up and her eyes would dart to the side and glow red.
...I know it was a coincidence the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra were rehearsing next door, but that doesn't explain the weird eye thing.

Not just that, but she's also got a bunch of red cloth triangles sewn over her nose and eyes (to represent eyebrows), and a couple of red circles over her cheeks. God help me, I think what she's tried to do is - and I can't believe I'm actually about to type this - turn herself into a living Raggedy Ann doll.

Can't help noting that, while I'm not sure who the fairies were in this ish, the chick in the rainbow outfit had several magnum-sized holes blown in her by Deadshot.
Gail is starting to worry me with her torture theme in this book.
First the Crime Doctor's attentions to our cast, now Bane's bricking and her 'button' advertisement for elective surgery in Ragdoll's sib.

Could it be that his sister used to be his brother?

Nicola is sick. My script had a lovely teddy bear picnic, tea and scones. SHE made it about some crazy nightmare.
I think Ragdoll mentioned his prom date in issue three of the current series, and in the previous mini, he said he'd french kissed his sister.
He's not a well lad.
