And now the poll thread for the Breakout X-Title of 2008 - a category for the title which most caught your eye, or changed your perceptions, in a positive manner this year. The one which blew you away or stood out from the crowd for you. The five most nominated candidates in this category were:

X-Force: Kyle, Yost and Cain. What more can be said about this one. I can still recall the derision people were pumping out when the preview art came out. More fool you. This book has certainly marked its territory, in the best possible way. Was it your big one for 2008?

Captain Britain & MI13: Cornell & Kirk. The thought of a Captain Britain title ever returning to our shelves was almost unthinkable last year. Yet this one sold out its first few issues twice. It certainly made a change from the book it replaced. Was this your Break-out title of the year?.

Cable: Swierczynski & Olivetti. Another Cable solo title was almost unthinkable, too. But spinning out of the events of Messiah Complex this one seems to be going pretty strong right now. A unique art style and an interesting story have kept it moving along pretty well. Is it your choice?

Deadpool: Because everybody loves the merc with a mouth. This series by Daniel Way and Paco Medina hasn't being going to long, but certainly seems to have gained some significant support.

Young X-Men: Guggenheim & Paquette. Kinda surprised to see this one as highly nominated as it has been. But it managed to squeeze its way ahead and into the poll. Was it your breakout title of 2008?

You may vote for one of the five choices above, and feel free to discuss your choice, below. Voting is open until the end of the month.

Over to you.

So, for the purposes of this particular vote, is breakout the same as best?

Not necessarily. The point of this category was always to record the book which posters felt made the most impact during 2008. In a positive way.

Out of those top five most nominated you should pick the one which you felt stood out the most.

X-Force.

Solid from the get go. Great writing in C&C, great art in Crain, Choi and Oback, what else can you say?

It has certainly been the high point in the X-books in 2008, and a very much worth while title. I hope (and am sure it will) remains to be as awesome as it is now, in 2009. I am certainly looking forward to whets to come!

I'd pick X-Force over CB&MI13 largely because of all the pre-launch negativity it had going against it. From Lupine Avengers/Claw Force/Team Scratch n'Sniff to my most anticipated monthly in just one beat... really marvelous job C&C have done imo.

Cable, Deadpool and Young X-Men can all rot.

Cable and Deadpool are better together. I miss that couple.

X-Force is always great, I love it.

I voted for Captain Britain and MI:13.

It is utterly brilliant.

I voted for X-Force even though I thought I would hate it. Yost and Kyle along with Carey are the best X-writers in a long while. Those three should be writing the main titles. And it has the best art team in the X-offices. Clayton is great but Mike and Sonia are extraordinary. One of the best art teams in the business.

But it was hard to decide because CB:m13 is a great comic too and I hope it sticks around for a long time.
