So I'm watching Tv Land The other night. There's this special on Legends and secrets and rumors... whatever. There are these people who are theorizing that Gilligan's Island was based on No Exit. It has been twenty some odd years since I read No Exit .... But What Crap! 1. In spite of trying to escape each week the SEVEN castaways like each other and have a lot of fun. In NO EXIT- The THREE principals have been specifically chosen to torment each other. There is never any indication that Gilligan screws everything up every week for any other reason than that he's a screw up . he's certainly no Satan Figure in the show. 2. I don't think that there were ANY escape attempts in No Exit, I could be wrong about this one point. It has been A long time since I've read it. I think The OFFICE(which i love) is actually more analagous to No Exit. Thoughts?

I NEVER thought I'd see "Giligan's Island" and "Jean-Paul Sartre" in the same sentence!
