The Iron Man enemy Temugin will be appearing in Agents of Atlas. Any opinions on this?

I'm not familiar with Temugin. But Agents of Atlas is awesomeness incarnate.

Temugin- Son of The Mandarin, and descendant of Genghis Khan.

Highly skilled martial artist, and possesses enormous Chi-channeling powers, so much so that he can channel Chi into superhuman speed, strength, and especially striking-power, so much so that he is at least somewhat physically superior to Iron Man.

Believes in an intense code of honor, which can make him a hero or villain depending on the circumstances.

Makes sense to me . . . a direct descendent of Genghis Khan becoming involved with a secret society that considers itself a continuation of Genghis Khan’s dynasty.

I just hope the Avatars (http://www.marvunapp.com/Appendix/avatrz.htm) make an appearance!

Well, Jeff Parker does love obscure and quirky stuff. So there's a chance.

I hope this means Iron Man is involved in the story too. And even if he is not, I say put him on the cover of the next issue. And Wolverine after that.

Either way....man oh manishevitz this book is going to be fun!

I'd rather see them tangle with the Mandarin than with his lame son.

Y'know, it's surprising that Claw and his bunch don't fight the Mandarin more often. Like the Sunni's and Shiites, they believe in something very similar yet just different enough to make the hate really run deep. Both revere the same ancestor and want to follow in his footsteps, but they have completely different ideas about what that means.

For the Agents of Atlas, following in Genghis Khan's footsteps means uniting people and spreading trade and knowledge and basically owing as much to Kublai Khan as Genghis.

To the Mandarin, following in Genghis Khan's footsteps means you worship strength and conquest and the strong should rule and the weak should perish.

The Mandarin believes in a kind of an Old Testament crazy Spartan kind of Genghis Khan, the Genghis Khan who slaughtered armies and drank out of Prestor-Johns' skull.

The Agents of Atlas believe in a kind of New Testament founder of a great civilization Genghis Khan.

These guys should HATE each other. Massive, bone-deep hate!

Is Jeff Parker a good writer? Not really familiar with Jeff Parker .

Jeff was solid on the first AoA series, and despite it being canceled did good work on X-Men: First Class.

Yes Jeff was terrific on the first Agents of Atlas mini. I wasn't a big seller but seems to have developed a cult following. As in a bizzare UFO suicide cult. I think there might have been subliminal messages in the book.

And I bought the first 7 or 8 issues of X-Men First Class and it was also good but I am not a big X men fan and I believe it was aimed a t a young audience. I eventually dropped it but it was well done.

He did a Spidey/ Fantastic Four team up that was a lot of fun and he wrote a great story in the Marvel Monsters one shot a while back.

If there is any justice this guy headed up the comic book writers totem.

Agreed.

He also did Age of the Sentry, as well as an AoA story in Secret Invasion: Who do you trust.

Man, I missed that Secret Invasion AoA story. Thanks for the heads up.

Man, I missed that Secret Invasion AoA story. Thanks for the heads up.

It wasn't crucial to the overall event, but it left me wishing they had played a larger role. Or at least just been shown more. I think you'll like Woo's reaction at the end.

I love em all but Jimmy Woo is my favorite. If you care to give us a spoiler free synopsis of that SI story, it would be appreciated.

I can't seem to find my copy. Hm, odd.

Well, basically, Woo and the others are fighting guerilla-style against the Skrulls who are trying to pacify the humans into surrendering. Venus lures some Skrull soldiers into a river where they begin to drown, and then -- I think -- the team begins arguing over how far is too far, and if maybe the Skrulls are in the right here. If the Earth *would* be a better place with them in charge.

Woo ends the discussion quite succinctly.

Agreed. Hell, he's part of the same extended family as Golden Claw, since they are both descended from Genghis Khan. Wouldn't be surprised if he's a grand nephew or something.

Thanks CyberHubbs.

I didn't want to start another thread since it's likely that CBR will have its own interview with Jeff Parker about AoA. So here is a link to his Newsarama interview............

Jeff Parker: Mixing the Agents of Atlas into Dark Reign (http://www.newsarama.com/comics/120818-Agents-AtlasB.html)

And if you can, hit that recommend button at the top of the page so this article can sit in the most popular column on the right, and hopefully catch the eye of potential new readers after it fades from the front page.

An interesting thing is that the pages of art shown are not from Dark Reign: New Nation. In the New Nation one-shot, they attack Fort Knox. Maybe there'll be another one-shot before the series begins?

Anyway. No problem, Lupek! You'll like the New Nation story, I think. There's a funny Skrull Kill Krew tale in the book, too. Good stuff.

I don't know. The more the better though.

I am only vaguely familar with the Skrull Kill Krew. Isn't the new 3-D Man with that group?
