I think I'm going to get AVENGERS: HAWKEYE PREMIERE HC. Haven't read many of the stories, but I always liked Clint's visual and personality and there's some top drawer creators in there.
Ultimate Wolverine vs Hulk #3???????????????????????
Oh, didn't you hear? IT’S BAAAAAACK! And this time it's going all the way... apparently.

After giving McGuinness over 4 months of time to "get ahead", he still can't put together two consecutive months of Hulk. I love his work, but not at the expense of going bi-monthly.
Lots of books that I want, but as prices keep going up I'm going to have to start pruning pretty soon. The solicit for Skaar looks good, if only they could have bought, borrowed or stolen a decent art team to make it work.

I'll be picking up that spanish language Torch and Spidey book for my nephew who is bilingual. The previous FF one was a blast. I wish DC would do the same with Supes and Batman.
Judging by her thighs on that Ed McGuinness AoA cover, Namora's got a whooty. Nice-sh!
And yes, the book is very well written but if we don't start to see some kind of clue or hint as to Steve Rogers return as Captain America by issue 50 I think I am going to drop the book.

Ellis has a track record of being slow (Deodato pinned the Tbolts delays in their run firmly on him, saying that he'd had to do other work while waiting for Tbolts scripts to arrive), and I think Bianchi's meant to take six weeks an issue. A + B = It's on the slow boat.

Actually, is not so much that Ellis is slow, but he does much more books than he is able to at that time, counting the Marvel ones and his creator owned books.

it's not the affordability it's the principle. i drew the $3 line in the sand a while ago, and i'm stickin' to my guns (Secret Invasion notwithstanding, which i got suckered into because i thought that only the oversized first issue was gonna be $4)
but i will continue to support the $3 books i want to.

They don't need to be referring to quality with the "phenom" bit, they could (and likely are) referring to sales. They're already getting some preorder #'s, and regardless of whether or not they have total preorder #'s in or not, it's gonna be the top book of the month when it hits, and one could have predicted that as soon as new first broke that Bendis was launching a new ongoing called Dark Avengers.

Curious about New Avengers: The Reunion, Thunderbolts, New Avengers, Wolverine: Origins; Astonishing Tales
BUT I can't afford them.
I'll be getting Dark Avengers; Avengers: Initiatve Presents Reptil; Secret Warriors; Messiah War; X-Force; X-Men: Quitting Time (JAMES ASMUS!); and Young X-Men.
I might get Uncanny X-Men, X-Factor, and X-Infernus depending on income and interest.
That Juan Doe Spider-Man and Human Torch cover is tempting also. BUT I CANNAE judge a book by its cover.

The New Warriors TPB listed there is for issues 14 - 20, seven issues, but has a price tag of $24.99? That's as much as 8 issues of the regular series and this isn't a hardcover.
The Mighty Avengers TPB listed there is for four issues but has a price tagg of $14.99 which is as much as five issues of the regular series.
Anyone know what is going on here... ?

ugh. They really did it, they took New Avengers too 3.99 monthly.
this is the beginning of the end for me and comics :(
It's really not that big of a deal in the end. It will add up a little, but price increases happen. They used to be like 5 cents, remember? Yeah, a $1 increase is a big hike, compared to previous ones. But hey, if you got a good job, you should be fine. And if not, just cut back on a couple books.

Except it is a big deal because this is the largest incremental increase ever (at least that I know of, I'm sure someone has this all plotted on a chart somewhere). This is not inflation, or at least not only, and we're not seeing higher quality paper or a higher page counts (which are some of the reasons for previous price increases). They were five and ten cents decades ago and adjusted for inflation that isn't $4 by today's standards. I'm not an expert on the market conditions of the printing industry but something must have spurred this outside of straight greed (I'm hoping).
And while many of us may have "good jobs" I'm not about to spend $12 for a three issue mini series that might suck. From here on in I know I will actually be scrutinizing purchases as opposed to just saying wtf and writing it off.
Also, this is one more step of the direction of shutting out kids. I mean, who's going to pay $4 for what amounts to one chapter of a story? Maybe I'm generalizing too much but as I said in my prior comment I'm more concerned with the TPBs. If we see a completely artificial increase there then where exactly does that leave collectors?
I mean, why go through all this in the first place?

That would be nice for Black Bolt, but I get the sinking feeling that instead of that, Marvel will have him lose in another effort to convince us all how badass Vulcan is.

I'm with artie. Putting up the price to $4 on books like New Avengers and Hulk is a disgrace, and even though my own personal stance counts for little, I'm sticking to it. So for every $4 book like the above 2 that I can't give up, I'm dropping one of the $3 ones that I can, like Avengers:Initiative and Mighty Avengers. Marvel shit me to tears sometimes...
