1 word: Sue-Bot.

i like Namor better but Sue would be a fool to reciprocate. Namor enjoys chasing her. and he has a history of dumping regular human females once they've aged.

O_o

While the difference in aging rates could definitely be an issue, I'm again, trying to remember which relationships you're talking about, where Namor dumped an air breather. He clearly still cared for Betty Dean, when they met again, when she was older.

Personally, I think the bigger issue is breathing water and dealing with the Atlanteans. I'm not so sure Namor is going to be marrying an airbreather nowadays.

LOL! I'm actually surprised that Doom isn't more interested in Susan.

what about Betty's friend; that x-kid's grandmother?

Loa's grandmother, Alice, was Betty Dean's room mate. Namor never had a relationship with her -- she didn't think he was good for Betty. He hit on her once when he and Betty had a fight. She shot him down at light speed and he immediately realized he was being a total arrogant a$$.

so how is Alani part-atlantean?

so how is Alani part-atlantean?

Alani is not part Atlantean. She was accidentally turned into a water breather by a magic Atlantean amulet. Since Namor was sort of responsible for her having it (he gave it to Betty, Betty gave it to Alice, Alice gave it to Alani) he's sort of taken responsibility for her and given her a home.

Namor slept with a shape shifter impersonating the Invisible Woman but not the actual invisible woman

Which led to some awkward confusion until Lyra's deception was exposed.

She's slept with a bunch of guys under-false pretenses with her shape-shifting powers. She also seduced the Torch (Jim Hammond, not Johnny Storm) while impersonating Phoebe Marrs.

...Did Namor and Invisible Woman ever have sex?...

Not with me, or anyone I know. With each other, who knows?

But there seemed to be a growing interest in her during the Byrne years but that's never been really followed up until the Claremont run on the FF.

Only in alternate realities has there been any relationships. IMO it's quite possible Valeria von Doom's soul / essence or whatever you want to call it has some influence on the current baby genius Val. Marvel equivocates a bit on whether or not Valeria Von Doom's father was Victor or Reed when was still masquerading as Doom. Claremont's story itself is very confusing on that point.

Most recently in X-Factor, an alternate reality Doom who took over Reed's body way back in college had some designs on Sue but even "our" reality's Doom found them unsavory and kept her away from him.

Thank You! One of these days I'm going to find that back issue too. My run of "Namor" is very spotty.

I don't think so... and even if Reed were out of the picture I don't think they ever should.

It's sort of like Wolverien and Jean Grey... the whole "forgidden fruit" aspect is really a big part of the fun.

The minute they ever really do hook up, I think a lot of the mystique over it will pretty much evaporate.

They did get close during the Fantastic Three run by Defalco and Frenz during the 90s.

Even Ben wanted a shot... seriously... I'm not trolling guys.

Yes indeed. If Reed had stayed missing ...

Ben was sweet on Sue from the beginning, IIRC.

Confusion which isn't helped by the fact that the cover of Namor #50, with Sue and Namor making out in front of the waterfall, was actually Sue.

Awkward doesn't begin to describe it. Poor Namor. Showing up the next morning with roses.

I miss Llyra. :frown:

Reed was considered dead although Sue was resistant to that idea. DeFalco has said in the past he was toying wtih the idea of making the deaths permanent but was overruled when you had the Onslaught storyline and the FF title being given to the Image group for a year. It would be interesting to know if he planned on having Sue eventually chose Namor or Ben.

Ben expressed some interest in Sue very early on in the FF, right after he became transformed into the Thing. He voiced his frustration at no longer being able to approach her and a lot of his anger with Reed was also do to that. Lee / Kirby quickly replaced that triangle with Namor / Sue / Reed and not long after that, Alicia was added to the cast. Morrison did revisit the Ben's long ago feelings for Sue very poignantly in FF 1234, where the Ben of the past met up with the married Sue.

I think Namor hit it, probably just once, I can see that. In a time of weakness, Sue knew it was a mistake, and made Namor swear never to speak of it, but it's unspoken between them... that's how I see it.

Doom gets plenty of play. I think Sue's a little too white bread for Doom- he seems to like the dark haired, sultry, european types.

I just can't see Sue actually sleeping with Namor (or maybe i just don't want to see it) i don't think she would intentionally break her marriage vows especially considering she has two children and a large extended family.

But one couldn't blame her if she did tho really.

Seems like lately they barely even speak to each other.

raping villagers?

his inner fantasy showed him enjoying the subjugation of Emma Frost and Loki. well, they were basically chained up. what he was really getting off on was Namor beating someone up on his behalf. Freud would have a field day w/ that one.
