So, Marvel has released art from an upcoming mini-series called "Dark Reign: Elektra." Personally, I have never been more excited in my life. Elektra is one of my favorite Marvel characters, mainly because she is by far the deadliest gal in comics. Zeb Wells is writing her five-part mini series with Clay Mann on art, as a tie-in to the Dark Reign event. I can't wait too see whats going on with my favorite assassin.

Agreed. One of things I seem to be liking the most about this whole Dark Reign event is all the series that are coming out of it. War Machine, Spider-Woman: Agent of SWORD, this new Female Black Panther! All I've been doing lately was getting all the updated information I can on all this new stuff!

I was one of those guys that hoped that Elecktra stayed dead, and that it was just the Skrullektra that was around the whole time.

I knew Marvel would ressurect Elektra once though. *sigh*

In theory, you could start a thread about, "Which Dark Reign spawned series will run the longest?"

War Machine
Spider-Woman
Elektra
Dark Avengers

Rank 'em, and all that. I mean, out of Onslaught, once upon a time, Marvel launched

Quicksilver 13 issues (14 if you count the annual w/ Heroes for Hire)
Deadpool 70 issues (or so, including annuals and one-shots)
Maverick 12 issues
Alpha Flight 22 issues (included a minus one and an annual)

When a glut of new series move like this, sometimes you know which will be the cream that rises, and sometimes you can see which will sour. Predictions?

Well seeing as the Elektra series is only a mini, it theoretically will end first. Even if it spawns an ongoing (hopefully not) it will still end first. Elektra can't support her own ongoing. I was also semi-hoping Marvel would leave her dead.

After that I see War Machine going first. Its the series I'm looking forward to the most, but Rhodey doesn't have the pull to keep readers for more than a short amount of time, regardless of the quality.

The other two series are by Bendis, so I can't see either going anywhere soon. Fans have been anticipating the Spider-Woman series for a long time, so I see that doing well for a good amount of time. DA might have a definite ending point, I'd like it to, but then again the popularity of the Avengers books will keep it going no matter how absurd it gets.

The other you didn't mention is Secret Warriors (which really, REALLY should be called Howling Commandos, but whatever Marvel), I am really interested in this one as well, but at $3.99 sales might drop quite sharply, if the quality drops.

So in short: (order of cancelation/ending)
1st Elektra
2nd War Machine
3rd Secret Warriors
4th Spider-Woman
5th Dark Avengers

I'm with those that wished Elektra would have stayed dead. Not thats there is anything wrong with her, but all the resurrections are getting old.

Order of demise:

1st Elektra
2nd War Machine
3rd Spider-Woman
4th Secret Warriors
5th Dark Avengers

Well I am very happy that Elektra is back and we asre getting another mini! I do think she suits the mini series format better than on goings, just because of the nature of her character. People also seem to forget that her last series ran for 35 issues, longer than Mystique, Emma Frost and Rogues on goings and only 3 issues shorter than She Hulks last effort. She also managed this without being shoe horned into multiple cross over events to give it a sales boost.

Too bad that one troll who called themselves Elektra got banned before they could see this...they might have a fit now.

I'd probably pick this up for the Clay Mann art alone. This guy killed on his one issue of Daredevil.

Spider-Woman, Secret Warriors, and Dark Avengers will stick around for a while given who's writing them. War Machine will probably do Incredible Herc style numbers and stick around as long as it's good, Elektra is only a mini so it wouldn't count really.

That would be quite humorous

You are forgetting Agents of Atlas? I though that series was also from Dark Reign.

So was it Skrull Elektra that helped Daredevil with the Murdock papers?

and is it safe to assume that Elektra was replaced after Wolverine: Enemy of the State?

I'm not a big Elektra fan, but I may check this out. I wonder how long it'll take for the Elektra vs Lady Bullseye fight.

It was Skrullektra in the Murdock Papers and Bendis has said in his Bendis Tapes that Elektra was swapped after EOTS.

I wonder how Elektra will react to how much the world has changed since she's been locked away in the Skrull ship.

Whatever happens with that series, I hope we get to see a classic and touching battle. Elektra versus Bullseye (who is now apparently Hawkeye on the Dark Avengers :-/ )

Dark Avengers looks to be the book that is going to last more after the Dark Reign.

BTW who's the creative team behind this mini?

Personally this seems a little unnecessary but if it's good I'll check it out.

Clay Mann did some work on Daredevil recently, he is quite good actually.
