I'm relieved to see Hawkman neither on the cover nor his name in the solicitation. Don't get me wrong, I might check this out for Adam Strange, but after what Starlin did in his Special, I'm not anxious to see him handle Hawkman again any time soon. Here's hoping this preview is indicative of the cast for the whole eight issues.

I've been hanging on with Rann/Thanagar Holy War just because I really like Adam Strange, Hawkman and Captain Comet but it's not been very good. I can no longer afford to buy stuff I am not 101% psyched for and I am less than thrilled at the prospect of this book. I did think Starlins Mystery in Space was good, so perhaps i will pick this up in trade if the reviews are positive.

I've been enjoying Holy War a lot, so I'll probably pick this up.

I am really hoping DC will ignore that special. In Trinity, it sure looks like they are as the plot would not work if Carter's Egyptian past wasn't real.

Just how much interest is there in those characters, though?

RANN/THANAGAR: HOLY WAR

05/2008: Holy War #1 of 8 — 37,179

06/2008: Holy War #2 of 8 — 26,446 (-28.9%)

07/2008: Holy War #3 of 8 — 23,955 (- 9.4%)

08/2008: Holy War #4 of 8 — 21,836 (- 8.9%)

09/2008: Holy War #5 of 8 — 20,294 (- 7.1%)

10/2008: Holy War #6 of 8 — 18,273 (-10.0%)

Might be better suited for a backup in Adventure Comics. Not like Prince Gavyn hasn't been there before!

I will be checking this out for sure.

Loved Jim starlins work on Msytery in space, not crazy about his work on Rann-Thanager Holy war.

I'd be willing to check this mini out for the hope that he does his own stories and writes the hell out of these characters like he did in Mystery in space with captain comet.
