Brubaker and Ennis coming back, Bendis and Miller coming over, Matt Fraction...what would it take?
And I'm not talking money here. What would DC have to allow them to do with their characters to make them interested in swapping sides?

Let Bendis dissassemble the JLA.
But in all seriousness, Brubaker writing Batman again would be win.
I wouldn't mind seeing Brubaker & Fraction writing at DC but please keep Bendis & Millar away from DC. The two of them have driven me away from alot of Marvel titles...I just don't like their styles of writing.

I quite like Millar (Red Son, and yes I enjoyed Ultimates a lot) but Bendis has never done much for me, other than some USM.

I really do not object to opening doors to newcomers to the DC Universe. After all, for example, the Kuberts are working for DC now.
But please keep that damn Stan Lee - Joe Quesada-ish mentality away from DC. And Bendis for some time, until he detoxes himself from Marvel.

I don't know what it would take but DC really needs to shake up the writing staff and bring in some new talent.

yeah! - i'd trade ya a brian wood for a matt fraction/millar/bendis any ol' day.
i'd trade brubaker for azarello straight up. (i'd throw in fraction as an added incentive)

Don't know what it would take, but if Bendis, Brubaker, Fraction, Ellis, or Millar come to DC, I'm gone. I can't stand what they've done to Marvel.

I am iffy on Bendis. I don't think he is great on a team book like Avengers but Spiderwoman Origins makes me think he would be good for Wonder Woman. I bet his name value would take the book out of the decline it's been on.
I'll take Brubaker any day. I didn't enjoy Fractions Iron Man but his work with Bru on Iron Fist was good.
I am sure this will raise some howls but I'll take Jeph Loeb back.
Charles and Daniel Knauf were excellent on Iron Man.
Jeff Parker isn't a big name yet but I think he will be. I'd like to see him write for DC.

Short answer: A metric ton of freedom.
Those guys pretty much expect to tell the kinds of high risk stories that they want. Plus having to put up with the annual "Crisis" every summer must be dreadful for guys like this.
Or maybe these guys have it really bad to do a Blue Devil story that they'll come running once their contracts are up. Huuuurrrrr.

I think you might be right about this.
I'd love to see what Parker, Fraction, and Slott could do at DC.
My dream job for Bendis is some kind of work outside of the comic book universes I enjoy reading. DC doesn't have a writer that isn't already better than that guy.
I like Bru, but other than the Bat-titles, which are currently dominated by the Didio-Morrison-Dini triangle (no apparent room for Bru), where else would his style fit? I think Marvel is the best place for him at the moment. I don't see better possibilities at DC right now.
I don't know the Knauf guys, so I have no opinion on them.
Abnett & Lanning are doing a great job on Marvel's space titles. As I recall, they did a pretty nice job on LSH when they were at DC. While I wouldn't want to see an end to Nova or Guardians of the Galaxy, if there were some problem, I wouldn't mind seeing them at DC.

That "Stan Lee mentality" is why Marvel is at the top of the pile in terms of characters, storylines and mass recognition while DC fans are still talking primarily about Superman, Batman and the next Crisis and making forums on Marvel originated artists and writers coming to/back to the DCU.
Last time i looked i dont think they where doing this over on the Marvel boards.

I don't think writers will move for any realistic amount of money. And if they were unhappy with the freedom they currently have at Marvel, they wouldn't be working there.
Besides, most of them have their independant books at Avatar, Image or Marvel's Icon.
No, what really is required to motivate a writer to jump from Marvel to DC, or vice versa, is them being pissed off enough to jump ship. Like when Morrison came back to DC after a huge fight with Quesada/Jemas.

I don't care where Fraction goes as long as he is taken off the Uncanny SeX-Men.

I don't mean to keep harping on Wonder Woman but I think a WW book in a similar style to Brubakers Captain America would be great.
And he's not a Marvel mainstay but Fantastic Four The End was terrific. How about Alan Davis?
I also liked Greg Paks Planet Hulk. He might be good at DC. Maybe for characters like Adam Strange, Captain Comet and Hawkman?
