Having read FC5 and seen the drawing of the Green Lanterns being sucked into the Earths (5th page from the back) I think FC might end us up with, again, an infinite number of Earths. Its really just a hunch but what do you think?

Hopefully they all just go away. Current DC Comics doesn't seem to understand 1 continuity, much less an infinite amount of them...

It's going to ASPLODE.

No, but hopefully it'll expand beyond the 52. And with some luck they'll stop using alternate characters as freaking cannon fodder.

The Multiverse isn't going away. Didio confirmed that when Morrison is ready, we'll have more stories about the 52. At best, we'll learn about the Megaverse Rip Hunter mentioned to Booster.

I hope the Multiverse remains and even expands. More potential stories that way. Without the Multiverse, the Justice Society would have been lost, retconned out of existence by DC in the late '50s.

Not really. They could've done what Darwyn Cooke did with "New Frontier".

Titles being canceled in the Batverse, Rebirths coming up (like Flash's), the mysterious end that FC and maybe Legion of 3 Worlds will bring plus the Blackest Night...I'd say there's a big reboot coming.

Either they need all this earths (the KC universe, the Wildstorm universe, the stan lee forever sucks universe) to use as cannon fodder and plot excuse; or we will end up with one universe so Blackest Night doesn't raise so many dead people and makes DC look like the Marvel Zombies.

It's definitely not going away. Either we're going to have a regular infinite Earth multiverse again (meaning this whole multi-year process of Infinite Crisis, 52, and Final Crisis was just a prolonged way to completely invalidate the original Crisis, but doing it incrementally so we fans wouldn't realize it until it was too late to care) or it's going to step up into an extra degree of crazy, having Earth-1 bleed into New Earth so they can revert Dick Grayson into a pixie boot wearing child, Wally West into Kid Flash, and Barbra Gordon as Batgirl.

Won't go away and then every year , they'll have a multiverse crisis which can rake up lots of money for DC.

After all , marvel and DC is pretty much going tit for tat , crossovers after crossovers after crossovers , the battle of the never ending crossovers. $$$$$$.

will come the new Megaverse and, hopefully, a rebooting of the entire DCU, building on the stuff that worked, weeding out what didn't, and paying homage to what's been proven.

I believe (hope) that we'll see that what we thought was the multiverse and the later streamlined post-COIE will be layers of this Megaverse that have always been there but we didn't understand its true nature or existence.

I don't think its going to be resolved at the end of FC. Evil will win, literally. And I think it will be a while before good successfully fights back.

nope. though that would work with morrison's dcu hiatus for his contracturally agreed time for creator-owned side-projects, but i'm sure there is going to be another thematic reason for that. maybe darkseid is defeated but mandrakk isn't, and the dawn of the fifth world is the beginning of that resistance, but the evil we're seeing is going to be defeated because it wants to destroy reality and dc has more books solicited after FC.
the day evil wins already happened, this is the story of the days after that, and by the end (months after, which due to time distortions will be happily rebooted by the end) it'll be taken care of.

That is the Marvel way, where big event stories aren't so much stories as very protracted set-ups for the next big event, and rarely have an ending, but a "to be continued". DC events, while sometimes used to set up a new status quo, do tend to have proper endings in which the central conflicts are resolved.
