Not long ago we had all those RIP tie-in's that weren't really tie-in's. Now that RIP is over, are all the bat-titles going to carry the "Last Rites" logo, whether they have anything in common or not? So far, it's looking that way. Not only did last week's Batman comic have the logo, it seems that this week's Nightwing and Detective are also going to carry it.

Yeah, it looks that way. They're taking a page from Marvel's book, with banners, logo's, and checklists galore!
Kidding!

Yeah, I have absolutely no idea what Last Rites is. RIP was at least billed as a 6-part storyline with "crossovers" or "tie-ins" with the other Bat-books. But Last Rites just seems to be a name they're tagging on all the books because I suppose they're under some sort of Bat-umbrella and "they all tie together".
so who is willing to make a list? :D

Well, this week's Detective is the first part of the proper 2-part Denny O'Neil Last Rites storyarc, right?

This is off-topic, but do we know when Alex Ross will be off the covers for Batman? I'm getting tired of seeing his work everywhere I look.

It doesn't look like he is doing the Gaiman issue covers. But you may be in the minority in wanting him off, the guy is quite popular.

I'm pretty sure Andy Kubert (who is awesome) is doing the Gaiman covers, but I don't care if Ross keeps doing them forever.

the banners on the cover. wow this is gonna make alot of readers heads cave in
I'm going to do with "Last Rites" the same thing I did with "R.I.P."-- read the titles I always read. Tie-ins should never, ever, contain information vital to the main storyline.

No doubt I'm probably in an extreme minority, but I just don't care for his work. Although, some of the RIP covers have been quite nice, especially the first one. I will say that his cover work is much better than his interiors - which I think are atrocious.
I love Ross when his coveres are relevant to a story. Not so much when they arent.
The RIP Bruce/Jezelb image for instance? Great. The RIP "Dance of Death"? Great...the more generic ones for the closing RIP issue and the third part? Could have been used for anything.

I agree. Tie-ins should complement the main story by adding to it, but not by adding important information that should be in the main text.
