I've read numerous posts of people talking about going to their LCS. But what is LCS? AM I the only one on the dark? Is it because I live in Alaska? I pick up my comics at my local comic store... that's it isn't it?! Local Comic Store!

Next time you're at your LCS, ask them about the new lineups in NA, MA, and DA....

My LCS is like an hour and a half drive from my house.

Sounds more like an LDCS.....Long Distance Comic Shop.

I only have ONE LCS within 300+ miles from where I live. I mean, with the supply low, and the demand high, my LCS could jack the prices up to $10 bucks per ish and I bet people would still buy them (I hold out for the trades, myself, except for a certain few, like Wolverine and Ultimate Avengers).
God, Alaska sucks!! And now people associate Alaska with Sarah Palin! That's even worse! I liked her better BEFORE she was in the Presidential election, back when I didn't know much about her, except she was trying to get us yearly dividends to help pay for the rising cost in gas (and she DID get us that $!).

You can live with quirky and eccentric politicians when they are local... but man, it always sucks when a national spotlight gets put on them.

At another site where I sometimes post, they like the acronym FLGS, for Friendly Local Game Store. It would be nice if people could just type game store, especially since there are a lot of people at that site who are only semi-fluent in English.

I've known of comic book stores for over twenty years of my life and I've never called it an LCS!

I would have expected you to mention GLC.

Don't forget JLA, JSA, LoSH, and the upcoming AoA.

They're doing AoA again? At least it's not another HoM.

I remember AoA. That was the story where all the villains traded heroes, right?
Acts of Avenging.

Wasn't ASM in that one? Maybe IIM and CA? I don't think UXM was though.

LCS is yet another of the many annoying bits of jargon fanboys invent to keep conversations exclusionary and intimidate new readers because we hate them so very very much.

As long as it's not a PoS.

Welcome to the world of acronyms
On a bike forum I frequent, somebody mentioned making a trip to his LBS Shop. Which would, of course, translate to Local Bike Shop Shop.
I wonder if he first made a stop at the Automated Teller Machine Machine, being careful not to let anyone see his Personal Identity Number Number?
