Since I have to order 2 months in advance I have this coming whatever...I can only hope it won't be the utter crud that was #1...but somehow I'm not optimistic

Does anyone know why this mini- isn't just issue 28 and 29? The main book is hugely delayed but they release these mini's with the same creative team?

i think it's supposed to give us insight as to what subject-x was doing and who else is behind him.

at least that's what the solicts say.

it's really just a way to give bianchi more time.

Im seriously sick of the 200 different x-books all going on at the same time. these one shots and weak mini series are garbage. Marvel needs to learn that is quality not quantity that keeps people coming back. I used to love the x-men and it's sad to see what they've become...

his half of last issue and this preview are easily ellis's best work with the x-men so far. the regular astonishing series has nothing on this.
that first one looks like an elder gods/lovecraft thing, and pt 2 looks like the road. now that's how you make a sweet x-men comic.

yes. if bianchi is running late, this just should have been astonishing x-men issues 3 and 4 (or whatever issue we're on....4 and 5? yeah)
which would have frustrated people but it wouldn't have mattered because these are way more fun than astonishing 1-3

They're 'What If?' tales at best. Better they be told in a miniseries like this.

i think that's a bit chickensh!t, and you could easily almost say the same thing about days of future past or here comes tomorrow.
this is a little farther out (not much), and making a new miniseries out of it seems the more annoying of the two.

i think that these could have been regular issues or backups, or something. they only seem separate to me to put something on the shelf while bianchi (hopefully) gets ahead.

anyway, i just remembered that coipel was supposed to do this issue, not crain. bummer about that (even though i like crain's work).

Side query, but I wonder if Ghost Boxes counts towards Ellis' 24 issue contract? I know Bianchi's only signed for 12 issues, maybe they really do plan to pad that out for 2 years with minis or one shots to fill the scheduling holes?

They should kill astonishing (nothing but delays and adds no real meat to uncanny). There should be a clear main titile, imho it should be uncany (although i prefer astonishing name instead of uncanny). And then have CLEARY diferent books like X-force.

Its totally useless to have Astonishing AND Uncanny since they are the same team, same everything. useless i tell you!

If I hear it's good then I'll pick it up, but I'll wait to see if it's worth it, because the first issue was a dissappointment.
