Dirty Deeds!

"Dirty Deeds" is a series of threads where a discussion can be held about the morally questionable, or outright evil acts of characters in comics. It might be a discussion about times a hero crossed a moral line they shouldn't have, or a discussion of a villain's most horrific acts in their history, but the premise remains the same.

Where possible, a poll will be included to vote upon said character's "dirtiest deed".

Please do remember that there are no wrong answers, this is all a matter of opinion. Since everyone has a different set of morals, please try and respect differences in people's own beliefs.

After a month-long hiatus, Dirty Deeds is back, and ready to take a look at a Generation X student who’s supposedly the most powerful of her class! She’s been a member of an overseas mutant police force. Twice, even! She’s also been a private eye, and a fashion model… that’s right, get ready for the naughtiest moments from that exotic beauty known as…

Monet St. Croix…
M!!!
http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/marveldatabase/images/3/31/X-factor-10_cvr.jpg

So what is Monet St. Croix's Dirtiest Deed?

- Laughing at her brother, Marius, when he offered her a chance to rule from another dimension, mocking his deformed appearance, and flat out rejecting his accord? (revealed in Generation X #40)

- Serving Emplate and keeping him alive in his dimension for months, by allowing him to feed on her bone marrow, as Penance? (revealed in Generation X #40)

- Destroying all the equipment in the Massachusetts Academy infirmary? (Generation X #2-3).

- While still Penance, attempting to kill her sisters, who were posing as her, at Emplate’s command? (Generation X #12-14).

- Rubbing it in that Gaia spent 1,000 years strapped to a rock at the end of the universe? (Generation X #46)

- Refusing to call Banshee and White Queen by “Mr. Cassidy and Ms. Frost” when they asked, sticking with “Sean and Emma”? (Generation X #46)

- Claiming that Jubilee’s gifts of apples to her were more akin to how one would treat a pet horse, than a friend, belittling her kindness while battling her in the Massachussets Academy Danger Room? (Generation X #48).

- Telepathically gossiping with Husk and Jubilee during an art lecture that Colossus flew all the way from Westchester to the Massachusetts Academy to give? (Generation X #52 )

- Hiding her own sisters, who were now Penance, in the basement of the Massachusetts Academy, rather than let the other human students know she existed? (Generation X #53).

- Recommending to her father that they should let Emplate die, rather than try to help him, and get him medical treatment for his bizarre condition? (Generation X #58).

- Calling Stacy X a “mutant prostitute hitching a ride”, who didn’t deserve a place on the X-Men, while investigating a disturbance at Cassidy Keep? (Uncanny X-Men #410).

- Dropping her robe, and dancing naked in front of Rictor while singing Right Said Fred’s “I’m Too Sexy” before throwing him out of the room unceremoniously? (X-Factor (vol. 3) #3)

- Tormenting Jack Vaughn with telepathic illusions of his dead lover, Rachel Santiago until he confessed to accidentally killing her, and framing her sister, Gloria? (X-Factor (vol. 3) #4).

- Calling Strong Guy and idiot when he mistook Sean Cassidy’s death to mean it was Shawn Cassidy, the actor? (X-Factor (vol. 3) #7)

- Publicly refusing to comply with the Superhuman Registration Act? (X-Factor (vol. 3) #9)

- Having a one-night stand with one of Madrox’s duplicates? (X-Factor (vol. 3) #10)

- Assaulting the real Jamie Madrox, throwing him through a window, then beating him, and making duplicates spawn out of him in the hopes of pummeling the one who seduced her? (X-Factor (vol. 3) #14)

- Assaulting a man by hitting him with a dislodged bar from a holding cell, and then crucifying him against a wall while being held in a Paris jail before fleeing the country? (X-Factor (vol. 3) #15-16)

- Grabbing the orphan, Nicole, and taking her back to New York with her from Paris, effectively kidnapping her? (X-Factor (vol. 3) #16)

- Badly mangling a lamp post to intimidate a man who mistook her and Siryn for prostitutes while they stood on a New York street corner? (X-Factor (vol. 3) #18)

- Knocking out Fatale, the member of X-Cell on two separate occasions on behalf of the government? (X-Factor (vol. 3) #19-20)

- Kidnapping the Tyler twins from their parents on behalf of their grandparents, using Operation: Wonkavator, to enforce their custody rights? (X-Factor (vol. 3) #21-23)

- Destroying the iPhone she bought for Wolfsbane right in her face when she announced she was leaving X-Factor? (X-Factor (vol. 3) #28)

- Offering to go to an abortion clinic and hold Siryn’s hand when she told her she was pregnant with Madrox’s baby? (X-Factor (vol. 3) #28)

- After being splashed with water by She-Hulk, going ahead and starting an unnecessary brawl with her while Darwin’s life was in the balance? (X-Factor (vol. 3) #33, She-Hulk (vol. 2) #31)

She can fly, read your mind, take a licking and keep on ticking… and frankly, she’s a gal you just plain don’t want to mess with. Now choose what you think is Monet St. Croix’s Dirtiest Deed!

'I'm too sexy'.....!?!

She dropped her drawers for that? Oh good Lord.

Why the hell wasn't she shaking her money maker to MC Hammer's 'U can't touch this'. At least pretend she was pretending to be hard to get. She may as well have just laid flat on her back at a bus park.

There's two good reasons to find that deed dirty.

One, suspect musical choice.
Two: Giving Rictor blue balls, before physically throwing him out.

In her defense, there was a bit of a "take over the world together" angle on that.

I laughed at that scene when she threw the bar. I must say I shared her annoyance of him and agreed with his punishment.

why? he was LOL all the way. marvel really squandered his potential, and i've been hoping PAD would do something sensical with him considering his way of working with fringe characters. too much to hope for, i guess.

you know, having monet just simply mention claudette, nicole, or marius once in a while would even be fine.

I'm sure it's just painful for her to talk about (although she did in her discussion with Doc Samson in X-Factor (vol. 3) #13).

It's more painful to delve into deeply for readers, though, due to the mess that is the twins swapping identities with Monet, then again to become "Penance", then again to switch out.

Hell, there's a meta-commentary joke from Generation X #46 when Ms. Pickwick comes to assess the Massachusetts Academy, and she points out how ludicrous it is that Monet has like quadruple citizenship: Algerian, French, Yugoslavian, and American. And that Yugoslavia doesn't even exist anymore.

M tries to casually explain she was born in Sarajevo, where her mother and father met on skiing holiday. Which nation, France or Algeria, that Carter St. Croix is a diplmoat of, though? Lean towards France, by the St. Croix. Her mom would be Algerian, presumably. Although, with her pops switching skin tones, who's to say his nationality is a constant, either?

Continuity messes are not, however, in any way regarded as "Dirty Deeds".

There was the brief supposed familial link to Bishop, that would've possibly made Monet Aboriginal Austrailian, too. Second arc of Generation X, where he sees Monet, and thinks its his mother. That got people talking.

But in Bishop's future, there were supposedly still "Emplates" running around, people he'd fed off of and made his goons that needed to feed upon mutant bone marrow. Most of the discussion of them has been dropped during the current "Bishop vs. Cable" shiznit.

But where did all the buggers go all the years in between Generation X and Bishop's adulthood?

Easy explanation: Carter St. Croix locked Marius in a research lab for decades looking for a cure, during the Summers Rebellion, the battle manages to spill over and destroy the facility holding him, turning him loose on the populace with a rabid hunger.

Ah, magical continuity.

Really, doing a "Dirty Deeds w/ Monet" is more about just enjoying some of the awesome moments she's had telling people off.

Stacy X being my personal favorite.

For a while now, though, I've been wondering if one of these days she and Emma will cross paths and be terse with one another. After all, when Monet left the Massachusetts Academy, it was just after the kids saw Emma psi-blast the detective who had her pegged as Adrienne Frost's killer. Emma just covered up her involvement and blew town for Genosha.

Monet left France under similar circumstances, and has the diplomatic immunity granted to her by her father to thank for it being less of a headache... but really, with how Gen X broke up, you'd think there'd be some exchange between the two.

Hell, they could mail it in via telepathic link, if they had to.

How is that a dirty deed? Based on any mutants experience with regristation how could she choose anything else?

Really, it's one thing to say you won't obey a law if it applies to you.

However, Monet and X-Factor Investigations publicly announced they'd aid anyone else who didn't comply with SHRA.

Or, "aid and abet" fugitives from the government.

If you don't think it's that bad, don't vote for it.

Wait, didn't she and Rictor register for the Act a couple issues before that? I think it was when James Madrox: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. showed up at XF headquarters.

Ahh Moner (not a typo, it's how I refer to her in a Tony Micelli voice). One of my all-time faves. Yes her dirty deeds are all pretty much just examples of her awesomness. The only one that would really count is when she killed the French guy but I couldn't vote for it as he so deserved it and it was an amazing moment for her.

I woudl love to see her deal more with her family probs. The mention in XF13 was great but she needs an arc where she's forefront. Emplate, the twins, her dad are all interesting concepts that should be explored more.

And I would love some confrontations between her and Emma.
