Who took over writing duties between the two? I'm sure I can just look it up but it may be easier to ask and get an opinion as well.

I'm finally getting to buying most of the Bat-family trades. Just looking for opinions on Robin, Batgirl, Nightwing etc.

The most I hear from Nightwing is to stick to the Dixon run.

The Pfeifer-Pete Woods run on the book was the series highlight for me.

I never bought into Cooke's art on the title. Looked too "Frank Kafka, PI" for me. And man, I did not like his Selina depiction.

I would say that Will's run is better than Bruebaker's. It's more fun and Pheiffer has shown that he really loves and respects the character. He wrote Selina like as an intelligent adult woman. She was sexy without coming accross as cheap and tarty. Oh and Selina had more important things to do than just throw herself at Batman the way Paul Dini constantly has her doing in 'Tec. I'm sorry the book got axed.

However I would hold off on buying back issues even at .50. The shipping costs can be expensive. All of Pheiffer's run are in TPB.

I wouldn't go as far as Mia, and say that Pfeifer's run was better than Brubaker's overall. However, I do believe that Pfeifer's run was better than Brubaker's at the end. IMO, the quality kind of nosedived toward the end. Ed himself said at the time of his departure that he had told all the stories he had to tell. I think it showed in the quality at the end. I also think the drop in quality paralleled to a degree Paul Gulacy's stint as artist. It's weird, I absolutedly love most of Gulacy's work (including some of his Batman/ Catwoman stories in LOTDK), but didn't think he was at all suited for this interpretation of Catwoman.

That's true. They really need to collect the nine issues leading up to OYL because they set up pretty much everything that comes in the 18 or so months after OYL. Especially since it features the death of a major character and a shocking revelation about Selina's past.

Probably #20-24 (volume 4) and definitely #25-37 (the issues Gulacy drew).

But the first 19 issues (vol. 1-3) are classic.

I'm not saying the later issues are bad, mind you, just not as good as the earlier issues. And I'd definitely say the Pfeifer issues are as good or better than these later issues.

Oddly enough, my favourite issues of the Brubaker era are the final eight or so, specifically the issue where Selina and Bruce go on a date.
