View Full Version : The I miss Exodus when he was a Bad-ass appreciation thread

Pretty much from his first appearance he was shown to be nigh powerful, and while I usually hate characters like that, this one just seemed like he could become a worthy successor to Magneto. I mean, in one of his first appearances he went toe to toe with Sersi of the Avengers, and BEAT HER! How many other characters can you say can do that? Not very many.

Anyway, this is a thread to appreciate the heir apparent to Mags before he became a joke under further writers.

Meh. He was too much of a goody-goody in AoA. Wasn't very interesting, imo. He was too Cyclops from the 616.

I don't know...I never really liked Exodus that much once he became leader of the Acolytes. He didn't listen to his follower's doubts about Holocaust, and when Milan died he sent Rusty to investigate without help. He was cool during his first appearances, and he did have some brilliant leadership moments (like expelling Neophyte from Avalon). Overall I wouldn't mind him kicking ass again, but I doubt I will ever be fully satisfied with Exodus.

Meh...I guess in the end though I'd wrather have the old Exodus back, though.
I know what you're saying! I like Exodus, but I don't love him and I didn't think his handling of the Acolytes was the greatest all the time. I liked that he became a menace that could take on the X-Men all by himself, like Mags did. He was a good successor, imo, but I didn't care for the tool they made him out to be later down the road.

Did M-Day make him weak, or what?
No offense to the Nightcrawler fans, but Exodus being taken out by him, didn't imagine that would happen; found the dust and emma frost tactic well played out though.

He is pink, and yet badass. Not unlike Jem, leader of the Holograms.

In terms of power, I'd at least like to see him in the same echelon as Magneto.

Yet, he ends up being like Gladiator of the Imperial Guard. So much potential for bad*ssery with a confidence based power, sadly now limited to jobbing out to people.

His Brotherhood run, written by Austen was the lowest of low points.

You do know that he was busy telepathically fighting the Eternal Thena throughout that entire issue. And he was winning.
His psionic powers were greater then the Man Beasts.

BTW The scariest thing about Exodus is that his speech patterns are so elequoent that you don't realize what he's saying is truly racist.

He needs a name change, a costume change and a new approach. He doesn't need to go out and look for followers. Drop the whole "heir to the throne" monologue. He just needs to be the badass he claims to be and do something spectacular. If he has the kind of power he claims then he should go clean up Genosha and make it habitable again. Then reclaim it as the homeland for mutants. If he does something like that then the mutants will flock to him.

No to everything but the costume change.

Exodus needs to continue being a bigot and preachy. He's underused that's his only problem. Whenever he's been taking out barring Austen there's always been a reasonable explanation.

I always thought Exodus would have been better served as one of Apocalypse's Horsemen than as Magneto's zealous follower. That was even before the backstory that Apocalypse helped activate his powers. Apocalypse needed to seen as a threat with original creations as Horsemen, and Exodus' M.O. seemed more in line with En Sabah Nur's background.

I also would get rid of the apparent "loyalty" trait from others that amplifies his powers, because it makes him sound dependent. As for his costume, I would update and modify it where it is not quite as gaudy.

I think the line has always been that Jean has usually not tapped the fullest of her powers, as she is an official Omega-level, even though she was usually not treated as such. I consider this to be a retcon of sorts, but nonetheless post retcon Jean pretty much owns Emma.
