do you think richochet as an x man would work. hes one of the few mutants left, he is currently in cali, where the x men relocated to, and could add something to the x men they never really had, a young (male) slacker type. and he could definitely benefit from the higher tech throwing discs that the xmen could provide, what do you think?

Who?

Unless it's Future Ricochet Rita (aka: SPIRAL), I'm not interested.

I'd just be happy to see him in any X-book. Unless it was to kill him off. Ricochet was awesome in Slingers.

He'd make a great addition sometime in the future...for now, he should just keep hangin' with the Loners. I want more Loners!!!

Agreed. His look is dated. He can keep hanging out with Phil Ulrich and Hollow.

You can blame Spider-man's (lack) of fashion sense. But I think the overall look still is servicable, even if the discs should be moved someplace else, like his belt or inside the jacket.

If Rico was added to the X-Men I'd probably start reading the series again. While I would like to see more follow up with the Loners, I would not be surprised if Marvel just ignored it. I'd rather see him used at all then waiting in the wings for a storyline that might never happen.

Ricochet could be an interesting character in the X-Men. When he was hanging out with the rest of the Slingers he was fairly ashamed of his mutant nature, and (I think, been a while since I read it) hid it from them. While he wouldn't be the first self-hating mutant, it's still a fairly interesting aspect of the character and would be interesting to explore him in a mutant environment. Especially if you place him against characters like Cyclops, Beast or Rogue who have suffered far more because of their powers then Ricochet ever has. Might also help him get past some of the guilt he felt for Hornet's death as well.

I don't think he should join. He's one of few mutants who has never been affiliated with a mutant team. I think he works better as an independent character like that.

It's like Torch never having been an Avenger, even though the other three FF members are.

I think he works better as an independent character like that.I always found that kinda strange. I mean, why don't the X-Men go recruit the other independently-operating mutant heroes? I mean, they used to go around picking up new members by using Cerebro and tracking them down and then giving them the ole sales pitch. Nowadays, it seems like the only time they get new members (not counting the students) is if they "promote" from within their own ranks or if new characters come to them in some way. At the very least, with the shrunken mutant populace, it wouldn't hurt to at least ask those other mutant heroes.

He does Longshot better then Longshot does.

Yeah, that never made any sense either. Johnny Storm makes more sense as an Avenger than the other three FF ever have.

I say yes! Ricochet would make a great X-Man. He'd probably be put to better use than he was in Loners.

I read Loners. I didn't like his personality, powerset, or look.

As someone said in the Namor thread, the X-Men have enough jerks and with the new Uncanny ensemble they also have enough unremarkable characters as well.

I wish someone could bring forth personalities as strong as Morrison's but with more credible and longevous characters than Beak and Angel. But I guess that's a tangential discussion.

They did send out the broadcast for all mutants.

The problem is that Ricochet doesn't exactly know he's a mutant. He may have an idea, but I don't recall him ever settling on the notion. And even so, he struggles with his powers and his past and relations therein. As evidenced by Loners, he clearly isn't sure he wants to be a hero.

Yeah, that never made any sense either.Maybe not, but it is funny.

No, Ricochet is much like Spider-Man in personality. Rushing in headstrong, quipping during a fight, rushing off to pursue a saving grace while one or two others fight the big bad, etc. The X-Men seem to get along with Spidey just fine, so I imagine Ricochet wouldn't be much of a problem.

For me, Ricochet works well as an X-men...he reminds me of Longshot
(oh fudge...did I just make him more unpopular with that comparison?)

He's like Longshot, but without all the bad and lots more good.

uh, ricochet is the furthest thing from a jerk.
