Sure they can and the whole one-shots proof that they sell enough to make more, but why waste a whole X-possition to let a writer talk about a Wolverine story which in the end will be like everyone else.
Face it each of these Wolverine story has the same pattern, just with different places and different lesser elements.
Each one-shot is about Wolverine being away from the X-men, he gets into a dangerous situation, which leads to him being attacked and wounded, he recovers and kills the living daylight of the people who did it.
END!
It's like seeing the garbage being taken away every week. Just with the garbage man wearing a different coloured shirt each time.
They are all the same, okay they sell because it seems people want to read the same story over and over again, but why waste a weeks X-possition for this throwaway storyline?

I know, she was so great in X-Calibre (as were all of the characters) and yet we've never met her in the 616. I always assumed she show up in Excalibur after the AOA, but no luck. Perhaps someone will dust her off someday. Her power was awesome!

Hey, anything with art by Juan Doe is worth paying attention too...

Not if it has to deal with Wolverine.
Lesigh. I too wanted some Switchback from the AoA. Maybe Ellis will bring her over in Astonishing.

That's what I was thinking too  We need a 616 Switchback
Do the one-shots really play an important role in the marvel universe
or is it ignored in the mainstream books? Do you hear about Wolverine's adventures in the one-shots in books like Wolverine, Legacy, Uncanny, etc?
Yeah it's marvel's way of making money, but why not make a mini about some other X-character? Does it always have to be Wolverine? His movie may be coming up, but I don't think we need minis to promote that, I see the movies as a way of promoting the comics.

Seeing Wolvie all tied up and hanging upside down like that makes me think of only one thing: someone is going to be chopped down to itty bitty pieces, and I'm wagering on fatty McFat sitting in front of him.
Look okay.

My initial reaction: 48 pages for $4! Not bad, Marvel. Especially seeing as how regular 22 page comics will soon cost $4.

Well, according to the article there wasn't supposed to be an X-position this week, so they decided to promote this instead. In other words, it was a promo-spot or nothing.

I don't know... this time he could lose! I have a feeling about it this time.

Another Wolverine one-shot!?!?:confused: UGH! :rolleyes::frown:
The one shots basically fill in for the main title, which misses months all over the place with the current OML storyline. So it's not that big of a deal, and there's a reason for them being released.

Covers maybe, but his interiors? Ew.

The 48 pages includes the ads. The typical Wolverine one shot/oversized annual type comic is 33 pages of story, usually consisting of a 22 page regular story, and an 11 page short story.

LOL
Wolverine is my favorite character, so I buy all his mini's/one-shots. I even joked w/my LCS owner not to long ago, "if a one-shot came out w/Logan sitting on the crapper for 33 pages, I'd buy it!"
