Go stand outside of his house banging on the door. He'll let you in. You're practically brothers.

Get an agent. If they ask for money upfront. Run! Google for talent agencies in your town or area.

Being a stand-in is a damn good job.

When I first moved to LA, I PA-ed on a DirecTV commercial that featured Drew Carey. I never got to talk to Carey, but I did talk to his stand-in. The guy was round and kind of bald, and the exact height of Carey, but other than that, looked nothing like him. He spent most of the day reading and sucking down free frappaccinos and was paid substantially for a day of that! With Carey's show in full-swing at the time, standing-in was his full-time gig!

Yeah, it's nothing to do with actual resemblance, just matching height and proportions, so that the lighting guys can get set up without the actor having to stand there getting bored and very hot under the lights.

Then you probably wouldn't be good as his stand in, I'm sorry to say - you'd cast a different shadow to him, and so the lights would have to be readjusted when he came on set, which defeats the purpose of the stand in.

The show's been on the air for 8 years. I'm guessing they've already filled the stand-in slot several times over.

Dammit Kal. I never know if you're trying to be funny. I always imagine you taking a pipe out of your mouth just before delivering these deadpanny lines though.
