I thought 17 based on the very little I read of Loners. And I'm just thinking about how when Shan was the oldest New Mutant (about 19 or 21 I think) and Julie was like 10 back in the original Power Pack series.

The age difference isn't that bad since both of them have been completely screwed around with due to comic book aging, Shan is probably still in her mid twenties.

I just think that Shan got the crazy out of her system back in college. And now she needs a woman who is a bit more mature.

too young. sam is SO not 21, that was messed up. and even fi that were true, that makes karma 23, maybe even 24. bling is... 17?

I said that Bling is too young, she's about 16. Karma is about the same age as Colossus, mid to late twenties.

Xian was the oldest of the original New Mutants. And I don't think Sam is actually 21. When he said that line in Uncanny X-men he was referring to a movie.

yeah, karma is about a year or two older than rogue, making her 25/26 at least. cannonball is definitely 24 by now, as well as rogue. same with moonstar. that makes sunspot about 21, which i would think is reasonable considering how frigen logn he has been written as a legal adult, and how long he has led the hellfire club and openly drank alcohol on panel at dinners. rahne is also 21 or 22, she can drink legally at a bar, and she would never dare to get a fake id, its unholy.

monet st croix is 21, even. maaaaybe she has a fake id, but i doubt it. it makes sense that 5 years passed since the beginning of genx, jubilee is 18 or 19 now.

siryn and madrox are 25....

i hate ages.

I just hope hope hope Karma plays a bigger role in The X-Men in the future. She is such a great character, and adds a lot of new and old flavor to the current X-roster. They need more ethnicity, telepaths, females, and New Mutant characters, as well as mental and emotional diversity, some new spark with a classic flavor, and style. Karma's got ALL.

Plus, SO many fans have praised the use of Karma lately, I don't see how they could ignore her in UXM. She will most likely continue to appear. Hopefully, she plays a crucial role in upcoming years.

As far as i'm concerned......The New Mutants are in their mid to late twenties...the X-Men range from late late twenties to early thirties to late thirties.

The idea of Sam being 21 is ridiculous.

As for Karma....i really think a new character should be created if a love interest is in the cards.

The number of gay/lesbian characters in comics are small.

Anole, Northstar, and almost any other gay/lesbian character has the same problem...there just aren't solid options.

I don't understand why people complain for lack of gay representation. We can't just mass produce new gay characters, it would seem forced, as if trying to fill a quota. We have a lot of gay/lesbian characters if you think about it.

Karma, Northstar, Anole, Gypsy Moth, Mystique, Destiny, Rictor, Shatterstar, Rawhide Kid, Lucy In The Sky, Hulkling, Wiccan, Bling!, Greymalkin, Iceman (I'm considering it canon), I mean it isn't as if there isn't representation. We don't have "enough", exactly, but if we just keep throwing in the same minority over and over it seems like they're trying to hard for quantity, not quality.

There are plenty minorities not represented at all. We should try throwing them in as well.

i do too, but it should be equal representation. however, to get to this, we'd have to create a million+ new gay characters, a million+ new african american characters, a million+ asian characters, as well as every other minority. we need quality characters, not quantity. same thing goes for white characters. dont just create them for the hell of it, let them have a purpose!
