It kind of loses it's effect when it's not on the internet...but I appreciated the attempt...

I think it's sort of pathetic that the media has just recently picked up on this "phenomenon." Welcome to 5 years ago.

Nevertheless, I'm sure Rick appreciated his first paycheck of the 21st century.

Haha, maybe he can resurrect his career.

Yup. They just now picked up on the fad even though it became uncool a long time ago.

I'm sure he was recently voted MTV Europe's Greatest Ever Artist. I don't think Rick Rolling has anywhere to go after that.

I'm actually dissapointed that I missed this.

I think I'm offended by the fact people think rick rolling is still funny.

I thought it was hilarious. Particularly since it interrupted a Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends float song and that damn show went from funny to moronic in about three episodes flat.
I loved it.

Or that it was ever funny at all.
Rick Rollin sounds like the sort of thing some braindead Familly Guy fan would think is funny. ie: "Ahaha reference to the 80s OMG I has moar ROFL 80s, your gaytarded LMOA!"

I dunno, it was kind of funny when Vince McMahon got RickRolled live on an episode of Raw.

SEE WHAT YOU'VE DONE, INTERNET.

(Astley's even got his own entry on the Transformers Wiki (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Rick_Astley) and everything...)

I thought it was pretty cool, but then, I like the song in a non-ironic sort of way.

This is just plain wrong, it doesn't even fit the float or the theme, its just wrong.

Being Rick Rolled is wrong, cause misleading an audience is cliche and not nice.

Yet I can't help but approve of this wrongness.

...

I love that show.

Seriously, I don't think Cartoon Network has ever produced something I'd flame, outside of a few dumb Adult Swim shows. And most of those are brilliant too. (12 oz. Mouse and the Squidbillies are probably the only less than worship-worthy works that CN has ever bankrolled.)

Out of curiousity, how is misleading an audience cliche? It doesn't really happen all that happen, at least to the degree that a Rickroll requires.

I think there should be Rick OLNEY rolling.

I think there should be Rick OLNEY rolling.

He was busy inflating the floats with hot air.

Being rickrolled is the new "SEX!...now that I have you attention." It’s not a new joke, and it’s one that has never really been all that funny. It’s what I call the gunshot tactic that is using an attention getter to get noticed, like firing a gun in the air. Now for some that might be hilarious even after the 100th time they’ve seen it. But for many it puts them on guard and often on the defensive.
