So with the conclusion of RIP hours away for most of us, I was just thinking of something. We knew from a while ago that RIP deals with Batman's fate, so when the Black Glove first appeared in the Batcave I thought,
"Okay so now they know he's Bruce Wayne, but all they'll have to do to hide that, is have them all die coincidently or something like that at the end, so as to protect everyone else's identity, even if Batman/Bruce Wayne were to die. I mean it wouldn't be hard to work out who most of them are based on Bruce Wayne and his associates"
Same sort of idea with Jezebel
But now as this stories progressed people like the Joker have stumbed into this little gang and now knows who Batman is. Now I know before there have been stories that have hinted, that the Joker, or some other villians, already know who he is, but don't really care, because it's Batman they hate.
(In NML wasn't there a story about some everyday guy who finds out who Batman as as he takes off his mask, and tries to sell it to people like the Joker and Two-Face but they don't care?)
However, his secret identity is well and truly layed flat on the table now, and I think it would be pretty extreme to think, yes even if Joker's beef is with Batman, how he could resist using this information and terrorising the rest of the Bat-family?
I'm just wondering what everyone else thinks? Any ideas on how future writers will tackle this short of a retcon? Or does anyone think it isn't that important?
