Kind of long story. Please bear with me.

I was telling a friend how much I liked Spider-Man when I was little and she said, "Did you ever make any Spider-Man comics?" My reply was that I'd never made a comic featuring a corporately-owned character except for a minicomic I created, age 5, about Kool-Aid Man and the dinosaur that was on the purple Kool-Aid packages at the time. The villain was made of fire and said "Roast my toast!" and that's all I could remember.

I could not, for the life of me, remember the dinosaur's name, so after a little research, I found this (http://www.x-entertainment.com/articles/0935/comic/index.html). His name was Purplesaurus Rex, and this twelve-page comic was the obvious inspiration for my childhood foray into corporate comics. The villain ("Scorch") even utters the one piece of dialogue I remember using. However, I have no recollection of where I must've found this comic.

This is where y'all come in. Does anyone know where this comic was originally published? Marvel apparently published a six-issue Kool-Aid Man comic. Does anyone have the issues? Is this story from those? Or was it some sort of insert?

Hopefully someone can help me reconnect with this odd piece of my childhood. I'm also trying to find the original Aaron King minicomic, but it's not in my personal files and it's not with the parents. Another classic lost to time, I guess...

I don't know, but the art looks like it is by an Archie artist, and Archie put out 6 issues of Kool-Aid Man according to the GCD.

Looks like a job for Scott! Shaw.

Hey hey, the Kid delivers. #6 (here (http://www.comics.org/coverview.lasso?id=526452&zoom=4)) looks like a really strong contender. The cover is completely unfamiliar to me, but it's very possible that I had a coverless copy.

Aside: I'm really tickled by the idea of Dan DeCarlo drawing the Kool-Aid Man. I just imagine him busting through the wall of Pop Tate's soda shoppe. "Oh yeah!"

And more, from an edit: After some more looking, I see that Kool-Aid Man rights changed hands from Marvel to Archie with issue three to four. I wonder if he was a really popular property. Or maybe Kool-Aid was really displeased with the way Marvel was handling their flagship character.

Just to clear things up for you guys, the Adventures of Kool Aid Man was published by Marvel for the first three issues ... and then moved to Archie Comics for the next three.
