Now that Superman is leaving ACTION and the series is basically being given to other characters, will Johns leave as well?
I reckon he'll move over to ADVENTURE if it becomes a place for LSH stories...

In the Feb. 09 solicits, he wasn't writing either title.

Since he's adding the Flash to his writing, he's probably moving over to Adventure Comics, but will help out James Robinson.

We have to wait to see what will happen. I hope he doesn´t leave and DC doesn´t take Superman off Action Comics.

The Adventure Comics #0 issue is a reprint of the first appearence of the Legion of Superheroes, if that's what you mean.

You have answered yourself in another thread. Quoting your own words:
Geoff Johns and Gary Frank move to a new SUPERMAN: SECRET ORIGIN miniseries (similar in tone to GL's SECRET ORIGIN arc)

He'll still be writing Superman stories, just not in Action Comics, although he may return at some point.
Regardless, he's still writing Superman, so I don't really care if it's Geoff Johns' Action Comics or Geoff Johns' Superman: Secret Origin or Geoff Johns' Adventure Comics.

Maybe he returns on Action #900 or earlier, when DC realises that taking Superman off Action Comics will kill the tittle.

I'll be buying whatever Geoff puts out as far as Superman goes.
But as I said in the other thread, I don't think I'll be continuing to buy the Superman books with the upcoming changes.

He's been carrying the franchise up to this point, and I figured he (even if Frank left) would be on for a while longer. It'll be really tough to keep up with all these Super titles without him.

Unlike the last time they took Superman out of ACTION COMICS (when it went weekly in the 1980's), the theme of the book is very much Superman-centric.
So the possibility of him showing up on some sort of basis still exists, although I agree the sell is a bit tougher without him being in each issue.
Kudos to them for shaking it up a bit, though.

Superman has never been taken out of the comics until now. Action Comics Weekly still featured Superman every week, along with a varitey of different heroes. This time, Clark is out of the book and it's going to Nightwing and Flamebird. Rucka himself said that while Clark is absent from the book, his presence is still felt.

Did it? I had them all up to a few years ago and know Superman had 1 or 2 little arcs, but I thought he was absent for most of the Weekly run.

Wait....what? Has my head been in the sand? Since when is Superman not going to be in Action Comics?

Hell yes. They've been perfect together.
EDIT: lol NM I see a couple topics on this.
I thought Busiek was going to be the man who would save the Super-verse, but even he couldn't seem to make any real impact. He's doing great with Trinity mind you, but it seems that the only Super-hype to come out of that camp in the last 20 years (barring the Doomsday thing) has been because of John's run.

It seems Rucka will be writing Action for 12 issues. I wonder if Johns will be focusing on Blackest Night, and after Rucka finishes, he will be back to Action Comics. After all, he's said more than once that he's got 2 years worth of Superman stories.

So what will be Geoff Johns' last issue of Action before Rucka takes over ?

I think it is #873 as the next issue is 874 with James Robinson writing.

I'm very disappointed. Geoff Johns has said he had Action Comics plotted out till #890ish. Now that may not happen. This is my favorite DC book right now. :frown:

Well, he does have it plotted out. Story beats are going to be done by Rucka and the other material is going to be in SO.

I know Eddy Barrows' a great artist, but this cover blows away anything else he's ever done.
Bravo.

In early interviews, we were led to believe that Geoff Johns was going to be on Action for the long haul, not that he's be on for a half dozen or so issues just to be replaced by another writer.
If this was always the plan then we were misled.
