Well in his defense, I have been buying the X-Men comic books since 1988, and I barely know who Polaris is.

What is Robin doing on the cover of X-men: Kingbreaker?

The vast majority of non-hard core X-fans have no idea who Polaris is from what I have seen. The animated TV series will really start to change that though over the next few years. Hell, first run eps of X-Men Evo in Brazil alone would pull around a million viewers just a couple years ago. Add to that the people who ended up watching the ep in reruns, online, and times that by lots of countries around the world and an animated X-Men series can easily end up reaching tens of millions of people over a several year period.
Its sad that a mini even if it ends up being great like I expect Kingbreaker to be will sell at most around 50 thousand copies per issue and maybe another 50 thousand people will end up seeing over the next couple years in back issue, online, trade, etc. Thus, the series will be pretty much confined to the hard core comic book readers.
I am worried with the $1.00 price increase per issue that even the number of hard core buyers will stop picking up even really good minis. The downturn alone has already hurt sales of minis, we will see what paying $1.00 more then what fans did for Emperor Vulcan a year ago along with the economic downturn does to sales for Kingbreaker.

Is this colored by the same person who does the GotG? I've liked what I've seen of his/her coloring. Looking really good here.

Yeah, Marvel is really putting the squeeze on their fans by making those price hikes.

So X-Men: Kingbreaker is now considered a MU title? Cool.

Was that green haired lady Agent Brand?
OMG. You have to be joking!
No, as others have explained, that's Polaris aka Lorna Dane, the original naturally green haired woman. She's a long-time X-Man and has existed for 40 years, 10 times longer than Agent Brand.
Well in his defense, I have been buying the X-Men comic books since 1988, and I barely know who Polaris is.
Well, if you need to know anything else about Lorna just check out her spotlight on uncannyxmen.net, though it needs updating.

Or, just read my indepth Space Era summary, contains more information that's relevant to Kingbreaker, particularly the last paragraph which really covers the events leading up to Kingbreaker.

Well in their defence she is illegitimate.

lol. that was actually meant to be sarcastic in the sense that "she's the daughter of friggin' Magneto!" but it's actually a rather obscure and relatively overlooked plot point.

Wait until the current animated X-series airs and get back to me about that in a couple months. But, that said the character herself up until now has been 'rather obscure and overlooked' as the poster yesterday illustrated.

Well I guess for me the character never felt obscure, but that's because i was a fan of PAD's first X-Factor run (which you should check out if you haven't).
However, the whole Magneto's daughter thing happened during the Austin-Milligan (don't know who did it, but I'm pretty sure it was one of them) Dark Ages of the X-Men when I read mostly Vertigo stuff.
Is she going to be on the new animated show?

I have read just about every X-Factor issue. Out of the shadow of the A list x-women she could shine there (as she has other places away from the A list x-women), but just being on one of the smaller x-book ongoings isn't enough for to make a character well know by the masses of casual x-fans or Marvel fans. Having a decient role on the animated series though will introduce her first the first time to many millions of people though.
As for when 'Magneto's daughter thing happened' as you said. She was origionally introduced as the daughter of Magneto in Uncanny X-Men 50 titled "Queen of Mutants" that was retconned along with the Magneto in the storyline. Then in the 1990s in Mutant X (that 616 Havok was starring in at the time) and other AU issues writers had her be his daughter. In Morrison's New X-Men 132 he had her calling Magneto his father which Austen after reading that and Mutant X decided that was where Marvel was going that way so he filled in some of the blanks.

Ahhh. Yeah I knew she was originally thought of as Magneto's daughter, but my only exposure was during X-Factor where with Pietro in the line-up it was pretty clear that that origin was abandoned at the time.
I had kind of hoped that they would ignore the revival of that point, as I feel it will only detract further from what I feel is a quality character, but if something like that is in a cartoon, it's pretty much going to be cannon.

South American X-fans are already months of the rest of the world, American and European X-fans will get to see it soon enough. You also might want to take a look at House of M Civil War that is currently going on it is a great series and portays Lorna very well.
