Doctor Strange Question/Speculation

So we know the Sorceror Supreme ran away to go 'Find himself' or whatever Nancy boy excuse he made. There's talk of a new Sorcerer Supreme coming up as well. Plus all that Mystic Arcana or whatknot. But has anyone looked at the cover for Hulk #10. Yeah Loeb plays fast and loose with Continuity...if he plays with it at all, but the Doctor is supposed to be in the book, and there's a very different, face obscured BLUE version of him on the cover. Maybe it's been covered elsewhere but, what's all that about?

After Ditko left Marvel, Doctor Strange went down hill fast, and at some point they decided to reinvent him as a masked mystic superhero with a secret identity. He was Dr Strange the hero, but retired Dr Stephen Sanders in private.
Ugh! I'm glad that didn't take.

Hopefully it's a time traveling story.

I think it's quite clear at this point Loeb puts no importance on any sense of continuity with any other titles or plans in the MU. Peter David and the She-Hulk comics are proof of that.

We haven't seen Stephen since he girled out during that fight against The Hood. For all we know, he wears that outfit now. We know that there is an upcoming story in NA#50 about him, so before I call Loeb an idiot, I'll wait and see. We KNOW there are changes coming to Dr. Strange, is it that crazy to think that maybe he might have a different outfit?

Loeb said the characters in his Defenders arc of Hulk are gonna be pulled from different points in time, hence the old Strange costume/look.

Where did you hear that? I've been hoping we'd see the reappearance of Dr. Strange soon. He had so much potential after that mini by BKV a few years ago, and after becoming an Avenger... Now he's in limbo. Outside of the covers to FF #562 and Hulk #10 I haven't seen him anywhere.

This is actually a improvement in Doc.Strange.
He looks more reckless and more powerful in that mask,like he is not holding back.
And Doc.Strange is a great character but it is about time some new elements are put in his story and this mask for example looks very cool in my opinion.

The mask isn't new. It's a callback to a 40-year old story in Strange Tales #177 (lasted about a year)

And Doc has been around too long to be "reckless", IMO.

Well the mask can stay.
Its a diferent take on the character and a bit of change (even if this mask existed before) wont hurt a solid charactet like Doc Strange in my opinion.

I'm not a big fan of the Blue mask. I have to say I much prefer Dr Strange Rocking the Goatee whilst fighting of interdimensional threats, and Dark Magic forces....when he isn't using them that is.

Dr. Strange needs to hook up with Dead Girl and her pals in the afterlife again. Maybe explain how Mockingbird could have been there even though she was really kidnapped by the Skrulls (or whatever--I only flipped through SI).

I can't believe Marvel haven't given Strange his own book, especially with this which is basically a Strange event. I mean, stuff like the Clint/ Bobbie reunion would be more suited to the pages of Avengers than Strange. He deserves his own book!:mad: :mad: :mad:
