You know the lead poisoning thing might have made sense way back when. But today it seems like a trivial problem given the tech available.

I have a friend who did suffer from high lead levels and it was treated. It shouldn't be hard to remove the lead from anyone's system and then heal given superpowers.

Oh, well - suspend disbelief.

some interesting superman related stuff coming out in feb. I'll get the legion reprint and Action comics and superman.
