Looking for bands like Children of Bodom

I love In Flames, but I wouldn't say they're all that similar to Bodom. However if you're new to the whole european death metal thing, and you sound like you may be, then In Flames is a great place to start. The early work is pure Gothenburg melodic metal, and the newer work is a catchy and sort of poppy metal sound(I still love it though). They aren't nearly as technical as Alexi and crew, but they make up for it with songs and riffs that can really sink their hooks into you.

Maybe try these albums:

In Flames - The Jester Race
Arch Enemy - Wages Of Sin
Dark Tranquillity - Damage Done

They don't sound exactly like Bodom, but they fit your description, and are fantastic albums.

If you want bands who actually sound like Bodom clones, Kalmah is pretty good. Norther sounds like them too.

You guys are awesome thanks a lot. And no I'm not lookin for CoB clones, it's just one of the first euro-metal bands I heard so I didn't have much to go by. Defintely gunna check out those other bands tho
