Kyle Rayner?

PC Lois Lane was also a cartoonist in high school.

It was a very brief time when she had powers, when she was with the Silver Surfer I think, but I guess Alicia Masters qualifies .... there's a few villains who can draw too ... Besides the Puppet Master (sculpture) there's the Mad Painter from the Human Torch, and Paintball from Stars and STRIPE ... an evil art teacher!

Bruce Wayne. He invented everything in the Batcave so he must have a very high level of artistic skills in order to materalize what's in his brain to his cave.

I'm surprised no one's brought up Colossus yet.

It could be because some of us don't consider him a hero. Kidding. Kinda. No, not really the guy is an asshole.

Jack Knight dabbled in painting a little pre-Starman, and apparently turned full-time when he hung up his (non-existant) tights at the end of the series.

Jericho from Teen Titans. I remember he painted a portrait of Donna and Terry for their wedding.

Pre-Crisis Superman used to dabble... he would relax in the Fortress by painting alien landscapes.

Grace Brannagh in Promethea was an illustrator.

Peter David's Linda Danvers was a sculptor.

Spider-man is a photographer.

Clark Kent is a writer.

Spider-man is a photographer.

On a tangent, I often wonder whether anyone thinks Peter Parker is a good photographer. Sure, he gets all those exclusive shots of Spider-Man... but most of them (at least by professional photography standards) are probably crap! ("Do you even try to get the shot in focus, Parker?")

In fairness, the pics he takes of Spider-man are generally cases where he sets up a camera to automatically snap shots and then he picks the best.

I'm assuming that Peter's real talents are in photo shop and in the dark room.

He's gotten many non-Spider-Man assignments over the years, so he has to be fairly decent at it.

When the Metal Men took on secret identities, one of them became a folk singer. But I forget which one...

For one thing, weren't no Photoshop in 1962! And I figure even the best shots from that kind of setup aren't all that good.

Lead and Tin became a folk duo: "Leadby Hand and Tinker". Seriously.

As mentioned, Pete has gotten other photo-journalism assignments (including one that involved taking photos of Gwen Stacy in a bikini on location in the Savage Land...I love old comics) and even had his own photo book published. So he must be pretty good at it.

That's aside from the toiletcam pics Peter took in the 80s, which were censored by the comics code authority, month after month. Just another sad exemple of artistic repression under the CCA.

Maybe his non photojournalist photography sucks? Like "Wedding Vows" in Photoshop with some glow and bevel emboss lettering, and some huge ©Peter Parker photograpy in Script MT Bold neon glow.

Sam Simian was a comic book artists. Someone mention Steve Rogers, who was also was a fine-artist but also made his bones as a comic book artists (for 616's Marvel Captain America title. No shit!). Clark Kent has two science fiction novels published " Underneath a Red Sun " and " The Janus Chronicles " as well as a half dozen non-fiction books. Ms. Marvel was a successful science fiction author. Rick Jones has a tell-all auto-biography called " Sidekicks " which as a New York Times best seller. Wonder Woman has a best-selling non-fiction book. Peter Parker has a successful coffee table book called " Webs ".

And that's all I got off top.

Kyle Rayner was the most obvious recent example I could think of, freelance artist. I wonder what his net connection bill is like, sending in his scans from OA...

Spider-man debuted around six years ago.

The FF and the X-Men are almost all under 30.

Lalalalalala!

Actually, sliding timelines are one of my favorite things. Consider that the Barry Allen we're getting now died after the start of the Iraq War and probably used the internet in high school.

If we're including singers, Greg Sanders, the original Vigilante, was a country & western star. And of course there's Dazzler.

Actually, according to Marvel, Spider-Man debuted roughly 10 years ago (he was 15), and the FF debuted roughly 12 years ago.
