STOP!!! If you've yet to read JSA #20!

Still here? Fine. In JSA #20 we find out that when the multiverse was restored, so was the universe of Earth-2, complete with a Power Girl, so the original E2 Power Girl still has no home. What this also opens up is that it created its own E2 (E2B?) Superman who may still be around somewhere.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. I mean, I hated, hated, hated the way Kal-L died, beaten to death by a crazed doppleganger of himself. That's not how the Original Superman, the one from which all superheroes have descended, is supposed to die. But I accepted it. Do I really want another E2 Superman, but not the "real" E2 Superman to show up one day? And given that this E2B has the same history of the original E2 complete with a Crisis (it crossed time, so I don't have an problem with that), then shouldn't the E2B Kal-L have been gathered by Alexander Luthor? I feel suggesting that E2B Superman might still exist just opens a can of worms best left closed. I'm good with him not being recreated with the rest of the E2B. There was only one Original Superman and he's gone now.

I think the E2 Superman is gone "forever". Remember the catalyst for E2B's Power Girl showing up was the original's return to "Earth 2". Prior to that E2B's Power Girl was "lost" as well.

It's like the universe realized that Original Power Girl didn't belong there in the new Earth 2 and it provided one that did. With Kal-L being in an unmarked grave somewhere(and how messed up is THAT?) if I'm right there's no way for a "corrected" Kal-L2 to show up.

BTW, it looks like we were wrong about the lesbian angle and E2B Huntress is (or was anyway) in love with Robin. I can live with that a long as its not reciprocated or acted on. An Electra Complex is about what I'd expect from the daughter of Batman.

But as an romance. Ewww. Its as close to pederasty as you could get. Unless you posit a totally absent Dick Greyson during her childhood(overseas?) he helped raise Helena.

And where is the starting point for this Earth-2? They're lifes go as if COIE never happened?
Or just like when they thought "this is the end", nothing really happened?http://www.smileyhut.com/confused/dunno.gif (http://www.smileyhut.com)

I'm actually holding out that Kal-L will be a Blue (Hope) Lantern.

Still not going to hold my breath.

I thought Powergirl mentioned something about a crisis (the skies bleeding or something), but I don't know if they were talking about COIE or IC. But I've been curious how the memories were affected by these events after they reappear.

PG-2 says that the skies turned red and then her cousin disappeared. A clear reference to COIE and how it ended ....

I wasn't sure because Earth-2 reappeared in IC, and Kal-L returned there. Granted, he didn't meet anyone there that I recall, but it's possible that Powergirl may have known. Then he flew off into space to deal with the crisis.

More than likely it is COIE though.

I don't think this Earth 2 ever had contact with the Pre-Crisis Earth 1, so Jay Garrick and Barry Allen never met, there were no JSA-JLA team ups, etc.

Offhand, does anyone remember if the E2 Power Girl mentioned anything about Lois Lane also missing ?

This Earth-2 is a recreation and similar to the old one, except that they've never made contact with New Earth and instead of being destroyed, their world continued on after the first Crisis.

They say they'd had contact with other Earths, only they believed they all were destroyed in Crisis on Infinite Earths.

Actually, Lois should still be there since, Alexander Luthor actually took her off of E2. When E2B was created Lois should have been recreated as well and also waiting on Kal-L to return.

The questions now is, just what contact with other earths were they having? Is there also an E1B to keep all those old stories of E1 and E2 team-ups? Or is it---and this will hurt the noggin---they remember all the team ups that were wiped away when E1 became New Earth. So theorectically, the Jay Garrick of E2B should remember teaming up with Barry Allen, but Barry Allen should only know the New Earth Jay Garrick. And the Robin of E2B should remember meeting Robin of E1, but New Earth Robin obviously never had that encounter.

It's just a mess. Again.

.

This is something I was going to ask but it seems will have to wait and see what's next...

Well, I think where Bart and the West family went to will be explored in "Flash: Rebirth". I could be wrong.

If you listen to the recording of one of his panels hosted this summer on the DC site, it seems thats not one area he is going explore.

Yikes! Why make Power Girl's convoluted history even more convoluted?
