I actually set my MP3 player to quantify this. 1) The Jam, 2) Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, and 3) Teenage Fanclub. Yeah, I was surprised about that last one, too, but the registry doesn't lie (and Sparky's Dream may be the
greatest pop song ever!)
Also, yes, I'm American. (Plus, shocked to know Built to Spill was #4.)

My three fav acts at the moment:
Immortal Technique: Although I'm not a big fan of hip-hop music, I love Technique. Brilliant lyrics like I've been around since the planet was inhabitable I spit in the ocean and created microscopic animals, which involved into two species, the righteous and the cannibals. When God said "Let there be light", I turned it the fuck off. and Every time I speak my mind I'm lyrically critical; the pinnacle of being revolutionarily pivotal; beyond anything ever studied thats metaphysical; have completely won me over.
Well that, and the man's dedication to his beliefs, how knowledgeable he is, and how he articulates them, have made me a fan for life.
Rihanna: I like her. I'm not ashamed to admit it. Rehab is like my fav song at the moment.
Secondhand Serenade: I thank my friends for making a fan vid to John Vesely's It's Not Over, and for sending me a link to it. Ever since then, It's Not Over has become one of my anthems, and I have fallen in love with this man and his music.
